I would give you they are too irresponsible drink at 18, but your comments on tobacco are just lies. Simple as that. People generally smoke and do drugs because of their environment. Not because of an addiction. Children are clearly not more likely to die from gunfire than those fighting of in wars. You're being extreme. Banning guns in this country can and will never actually work. It is unrealistic. Not even major Democrats would agree to banning all guns. And the more extreme weaponry would just be pushed into the country illegally just like drugs. Another war that has been a huge failure. We now know what really happened in this latest shooting at a school. The locals failed big time and allowed the shooter to run around for around an hour before anything was done. How many lives were lost because of that? That isn't a sexy talking point so you'll just ignore that. I never said it should be mandated nor did I mean to imply as such. However, don't complain if you can't get by in because you cry about working 8 hours a day over 5 days of a week. It is laughable to believe that is killing people. Stress they put on themselves, diet, and other things are killing them. I do agree to an extent that wages are an issue. But what is the answer? Unions who will come in and take dues from their workers to better themselves and politicians they support. See the irony there? Force big businesses like Walmart to give more pay increases even after dumping huge investments recently into higher pay? Totally ignoring what that will do for future invents in their company. It is easy to tell somehow how to run their business, especially when you're sitting at home watching television all day never having actually ran a business yourself. And complaining about working 40 or more hours a week to have a better life than you had growing up or one your parents had is also real life. The people that get ahead in life are smart, they are willing to work 50 to 100 hours a week, but its more than how many hours you work. It's how you spend that money. Don't waste it, save it and invest it and you won't have to work until you're 65 or 70. I've been working 50 plus hours a week since 2019 and since the pandemic started my average is probably closer to 60 hours a week. I grew up with parents who struggled to get by. They made many made decisions with the little money they had and once my mother was forced to retire at a young age things got worse, then my health took a turn for the worse shortly thereafter and it really hit the fan. If this means I'll die young then so be it. My niece and nephew and my parents will have some money that I've been hoarding for these last few years. Most likely. I use an HP that's about 5 or 6 years old now. However, I doubt its impact on the environment is much at all. 18 year old Americans can vote and go die in useless wars but cannot buy tobacco or beer. Fixed it for you. It is being held at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Glossing over their website there is no reason to suggest they are a bunch of gun toting NRA members. In fact it shows they open to people of all walks of life. And the NRA isn't even the biggest gun lobby in DC anymore. I really wish the left would stop using them as their boogeyman. Charlton Heston is dead! The Houston may, a Democrat also said this. "The convention has been on the books for more than two years," Turner said during Wednesday's City Council meeting. "It's a contractual arrangement. We simply cannot cancel a conference or convention because we do not agree with the subject matter." My car isn't Chinese whatsoever. Most aren't these days. Even Japanese cars are either using American parts or Korean. I'm sure China is producing most phone content, but how impactful is my phone on the environment? True, but it wasn't until the big Reagan push of the 80s that really got things going to where we are now. They are running a business. The goal of a convention like this is to bring in as many people that the venue a can handle. Bigger venues are highly unlikely to allow guns floating around like some have claimed here. Its bigger than street gangs. They get their guns from illegal means. That will never end. Not a single major Democrat has ever called to take all the guns. Nor will they. Thus, the gun makers will still be allowed to make these guns. While I don't disagree with you comments on the drugs, we've been fighting a drug war since the 80s under both Republicans and Democrats. It has been a huge failure. So would a gun war. As long as we Americans are willing to live in the dark ages we can offset what China and other nations are doing. Come on people, we can do it! Cruz could have smacked that guy around, but he failed. He is a big fat useless failure after all. I would have kindly asked this reporter to point to other nations that even come close to a gun culture that we have in this country. The answer is none, its not even close. Even Democrats know they will have a hard time selling gun control in states they have won in recently like Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and even Virginia. Voters there are gun using Democrats, but Democrats in DC aren't smart enough to realize this. Other nations also don't have major issues with gangs in major cities that flood the streets with not only guns, but drugs. Drugs are also banned in this country, we even had a huge war on drugs the past few decades in case the reporter missed that, but that war has also failed. Why start another war, we clearly aren't having much success at them lately. I get your point, but its not based on fact, which means no irony involved. If the NRA has no say over the matter how is it their problem? Your point doesn't connect. I can't answer that, which is why I asked if this happens at their other events. It could also be that the owners of the venue will not allow it. And they have final say. I don't understand that comment. With how badly some gay people are treated I wouldn't be shocked that they also support gun rights. I don't know enough about the NRA conventions. Do they allow visitors to bring guns in other states. I would think that policy is actually decided by whomever owns the convention centers. They're the MSM boogeyman. Guns Owners of America is far more popular and finally getting some attention. They also aren't soft on guns like the NRA has been. To be fair, how many conventions like this allow you to carry? What makes you think banning certain guns will actually work? We have a gang issue in the country and they have unmolested access to guns, which then hit the streets. The war on drugs has been a huge failure. The war on guns will see the same outcome if we agree to it.
