Like i said, if I'm wrong 'm wrong. I just get the feeling someone I know is on this forum. While the user on the other forum who did this all the time wasn't someone i agreed with all the time, or even at all, he was a nice dude.
We still don't know what his definition of assault weapon actually is. AR15 and AK47 is not a weapon of war.
That is a rather small following actually in YouTube terms. If I'm wrong I'm wrong, so be it. Just thought got lucky there.
Sorry. Next drink is on me.
The previous political forum I was on a user would post YouTube videos all the time(I called him Mr YouTube) and loved posting videos from this guy. Just send me a PM and we can talk, I know its you.
Stryker, I know now its you. Just admit it to me. Come on, we go back a long ways.
It does appear this time around raising the age limit to but a gun is gaining traction. I don't see this helping all that much but I can agree to it as long as those under 21 can still practice with guns before they turn 21.
"The strong heritage of gun ownership in the U.S. – and the Constitutional right to bear arms – is an obstacle that British gun control activists like North didn't have to wrestle with in the aftermath of the Dunblane shooting. And yet, he sees other countries with similar histories which have successfully passed strict gun control measures.
And here is their issue. To correct this our gun culture is massive. It's huge even in anti gun Democrat areas. To fix this is far more easier said than done.
I'm talking about non gang member Americans who support not only gun rights but our rights to fight a tyrannical government.
And when that militia comes together to protect their city don't be shocked. Don't complain.
You can't go house to house and do that. Any true Conservative would scream constitutional violations.
"A gunman carrying a rifle and a handgun killed four people"
Neither would be banned under the plan Democrats want.
Gun control in this country would work as well as our war on drugs and our former war on alcohol.
The gun culture is far too big in this nation, not comparable to other nations. An outright ban on all or most guns is not possible. Few if any Democrats would even support that.
We'd be better off moving forward with the idea to make the age to buy 21, but also allow those younger to still practice with a licensed trainer with permission from a parent until 21. Also harsher punishment on parents if their guns are stolen from a child in their house.
Hate to burst your bubble but I'm not a fake or a sock account. I'm an OG member of the IMDB political board(CowherPower was my name back then) and since 2017 when they closed I've been over on the freeforums IMDB 2.0 board(CowherPowerForever was my name on that site). Sadly, the mods got stricter over the last year or so and I recently got the axe.
I went looking for a new place to debate people from both sides and I found this site. Which is easily the best so far. I was hoping a few of the people I knew over there were also on here, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Now you know.
This won't fly with Democrats in northern states that they still need to win in Novembers.
Some new gun laws will be passed this time, the writing is on the wall and some Republicans are working with Democrats on it. It will pass before the November elections and both sides will take credit, Americans ultimately won't care. It will be all about the economy.
I'm just wondering if the laws will hold up at the Supreme Court.
I doubt that. Gas stations generally already work on a skeleton crew. Items in the gas station like drinks and snacks will go up, but the oil industry will still set pump prices on gas.
California also has its own minimum wage at 14 dollars an hour and that will go to 15 next year.
Also, what folks don't realize is is that very few actually even make that minimum wage. You can complain the federal MW is still around 7 dollars, but its very hard to find a job that pays under 10 dollars an hour these days.
I'm by no means a fan of our former President George W. Bush, but while he was President he wanted to start drilling here in the US to get us off foreign oil. I'm sure Dick Cheney had a hand in that as well. Had the Democrats just went along with that things would be a lot different in 2022. And having our own oil doesn't mean we dismiss other forms of power. Most automobiles are still gas powered and will be for a long time. So, we clearly still need that oil.
Looking through the comments it looks like the venue filled out by the time he took the stage.
stryker, is that you?
I do support some reforms, but not the outlawing of so called assault weapons.
We already have background checks, but I do support an added waiting period. Some have suggested 10 days or so. I can support that.
A no gun buy list is a tricky one. Some issues have to be addressed first. We have a no fly list and it hasn't gone so well. Americans are illegally added to the list by mistake and even the ACLU has criticized our government on this going back to when Obama was in office. If we can fix these issues a no gun buying list would work.
Mental health needs to be addressed as does Big Pharma. Democrats often criticize Republicans for allowing the gun lobby to influence them, but they never mention the pharmaceutical industry that controls them. Two face politicians at its finest.
Those same scientists also agree its a diet and exercise issue as well, do they not? That is what I thought. It is a myth that it is more expensive to eat healthy. The issue is Americans like to overeat, which is another reason why early death has gone up.
I know I'm new to this board and you're the resident big Union guy, one that won't actually answer any real world questions, so it was good talking with you for the first time. I'm sure we will run into each other in the past. Like I'm sure we've ran into each other in the past if you get what I'm saying.
