Problem is they're shutting down everything and wrecking havoc on the economy for a couple of weeks. Cases will increase and some deaths, but I suspect the mortality rate will decline because of the increase in cases and because of that people will start going back to work, restaurants, bars etc. and the virus will start circulating again.
A handful of people will continue to be at high risk, (and my husband and I are in that category.) I'm not sure there is a way to eradicate this and eventually people will just get the virus - it will become endemic. Who knows if a vaccine will ever be found that is effective?????
What we had better do is start producing pharmaceuticals in this country and stop relying on China for something as vital to our well-being as that.
After today I will - or I will order on line and pick them up.
My washer died and I have one scheduled to be delivered and installed on Wednesday. I'm going to stay away from the delivery guys as much as I can. After that I'm through with other people for a while.
I just returned from Kroger - it was busier than expected and I was there when the doors opened. I carried my own bleach wipe to do the cart handles and wipe the touch screen before paying. One guy in line wanted to get right up next to me and I asked him to step back and he was cool about it. The meat section was empty, so still no hamburger - no pancake mix either, but I know how to make that from scratch. I might do an on line order but I really can live without chili! LOL.
I'm good for at least a couple of weeks with what I have and probably longer if I'm not fussy about what I eat.
As much as I can. My husband is in a very high risk group so we are staying in. I am making a couple of grocery runs, but I'm going very early in the morning when the store first opens. They have closed stores overnight for cleaning and restocking and I will go when there are as few people as possible.
I have friend who is an anesthesiologist and he told me no.
My husband who is in a very high risk group is going to cancel his dentist appointment for tomorrow and he also has an eye appointment on Friday at a university medical center, so that is definitely is going to be rescheduled.
We had a nice birthday dinner with my son and grandson Friday night - glad we were able to do that before the restaurants closed.
I stopped at the dollar store yesterday after I had already gone to Target and bought some there. They must have just gotten a shipment because the shelf was full of the 2 rolls for $1 stuff.
Well that trip has gone down the drain. It was a cruise starting in Montreal and ending in NY. Canada has closed all of it's ports to all ships with over 500 people, including crew - so all cruise ships.
They had them at Home Depot yesterday - I went early in the morning and the store was pretty empty except for the contractors.
I may make another quick trip to Kroger tomorrow morning when the store opens and everything is clean and fresh. A lot of people will have already rushed out this weekend and other's will be back to work. I would like to make a pot of chili so I still want some burger. With just the two of us anything like that lasts forever.
Wipes for grocery cart handles have been gone for a week, so I took a Clorox wipe with me and used it on the cart and the touch screen also. Will do that again if I go out. Kroger has on line shopping, so that is also always an option.
No they aren't. I cruise frequently and so see all types of bodies at beaches and by the pools on the ship. Believe me, there are things women show that should never be seen except by their spouse or sig other. I think heavy women can look attractive if they dress nicely, but if you are out of shape or have sagging flesh - please cover it up!
I liked the movie, but agree it was slow at times. The beginning scenes in the trenches actually made me dizzy and I had to look away a few times.
I occasionally pick up movies at the library. Currently I'm watching season 3 of Victoria and when I went to return it there was a notice on the door to not return anything at this time - late fees are being waived. Not sure what that is all about as the library is still open. Perhaps it's because the case is a hard surface and they figure germs might be on it.?????
Just pretend you are in Mexico. TP is not flushed but disposed of in a little basket by the toilet.
I went out for dinner last night at an upscale steakhouse and it was packed, but we decided that was the last time. Time to stay at home and do carry-out, home delivery, or home cooking.
Kroger just announced that they will open at 7am and close at 9pm - probably to give the workers a chance to restock and not fight the crowds. Usually they are open 24/7.
Good I own P&G stock.
Just like camping. We used to take 2+ week trips and so I would stock up before we left but at the end of the trip we would run short on something and so we had a few strange meals.
Yes and once they start testing the mortality rates will drop and that should reassure some people. My husband is in a very high risk group so I have to be careful because if I catch it that will be a huge problem for him, so we are staying in for the next week or so.
I went out this morning before there were many people out and found TP at Target. I only bought one package but there were people with 4 or 5 jumbo packs in their carts. They really should put the limit at 2.
I decided to go to Kroger after 11pm and the store had very few people but lots of stuff was gone. I found what I wanted with the exception of hamburger, so the trip was a success.
After my trip to Kroger this afternoon, I have decided I will only go late at night or very early in the morning. Crazy people. Crazy lines.
