Too toasted to care. I get that. Where was that hinted at? He was a very talented child singer and he was hilarious on Smart Guy. I wish he woulda gotten his own show. I know where he’s coming from. The Marvel movies don’t take any chances. I guess it’d be good for a light-hearted, fun Halloween crowd. It does have some freaky stuff. lol All of those the scenes already mentioned are among my favorites, but I’ll always remember the scene where I first realized this movie was a new fav of mine. When the team captain, Roland(?), pulls Rudy aside before they run out of the tunnel: Roland: You ready for this champ? Rudy: I’ve been ready for this my whole life. Roland: Then you lead us out onto the field. Hell yeah. Can you imagine dreaming something your entire life and then one day it actually occurs, all because of your work ethic? No luck. Just effort. Okay maybe a little luck. But all against the odds nonetheless. Then Rudy, who’s totally caught in the moment, looks over, and who does he see? Fortune, who knew exactly where Rudy would be before running out of the tunnel. The look that they exchange says 1,000 words. Rudy was living that moment for Fortune as well as for himself. And Fortune was very proud. Great scene and I’m getting choked up as I write. Miami but whatever :P I think it’s on par with Goodfellas, but I like Goodfellas a little more. It’s not the worst Best Pic winner, but not the best. I think many students know there was a player who died back in the day, but don’t know many details. I was a student there and that’s how I was until I saw this movie. I thought it was cool cause at least it was meta. I agree. Granted I never saw Homecoming but when I watched this one, I just didn’t care for it that much. Sure it had some good stuff. I liked Gyllenhaal and Holland was good as the more youthful Spider-Man, but I didn’t care for the youthfulness of the whole movie. So maybe I’m out of touch. But the goofy teen drama seemed out of place for the MCU. I mean what was the point of Pete’s best friend hooking up with the blonde? Just to give ol dude a subplot? And the whole MCU storyline is played out. Just seems like the same stuff everytime. Insecure hero with some skills has powers that he struggles with. The villain is some dude who is close to the hero but turned bad cause he got screwed over somehow. There’s a girl who challenges the hero’s faults, and in so many ways is superior to the hero. Always has to show him up somehow. Hero has a close call with the villain but with some help turns out alright in the end. And yeah Raimi’s movies have a similar plot, but with Raimi’s style, it was funny, awkward, strange, and unique. And the themes are played out more seriously I think. With the music and dialogue, everything just seemed grander. And look, I saw Raimi’s movies when I was hitting puberty, saw them all in theaters, and it was just the best. SO, new Spidey is good, but I just don’t care for it all that much when comparing to Raimi’s. I always liked Stu, but I’m also a big 007 fan. Stu was just a typical guy, no big deal. When I was little my favorite was Curly, but when I got around 9 or 10 Larry became my fav. He was more of a relatable straight man amongst the chaos. Yeah that is very true! She was nuts, but then again...well, I won't go there ;) Which is too bad because, well for a couple reasons. First of all, I believe there is some truth to what he wrote about his “Saved...” co-stars. Hollywood is a funky town, and the sort of stuff he described in the book does happen. Maybe it did happen on the Saved set, but I’ll never know for sure. Second, check out this video where Mark Paul admits that he was a bully to Dustin: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cbu7wfEGwO4 Maybe Mark Paul was just joking around, idk. Lastly and most importantly, Dustin Diamond was arguably the most talented actor in that show. His character might’ve been annoying to some, but he could do slapstick, facial expressions, celebrity impressions, drama, and he had good comedic timing. At a young age, he had a lot of talent. At this point, everyone should get over themselves and realize it’s been like 10 years and nobody else cares. I haven’t tuned in since 2015 but before that I had seen every episode. I’m sure it still has some merit but I just got burned out on it. I do think Matt and Trey probably make good shows still. I agree. I saw this when it came out and I thought it was great. I still watch it when it comes on TV. I like to think Stu and Miranda stayed together. They were a nice fit I suppose, even if she was a psycho hose beast. Yeah she was a little nuts. She was probably so angry at herself for being fooled by him.
