It just goes to show you. I suppose popular comedy can change with standards and practices.
Arnold had a successful run unmatched by any action movie star I can think of, from 82-94, with a few duds here and there.
I listened to the directors commentary with Rowdy Harrington(?), and he said there was a deleted scene where Keith David’s Ernie and his wife go to the Double Deuce to watch Codys band. Some racist rednecks give him a hard time and start picking a fight. Dalton steps in, takes care of the situation, then offers Ernie a job as bartender.
And I’m pretty certain both Papale and Warner had the same coach: Dick Vermeil.
It was another tale about the hood. Other than that, what’s the rip off from Boyz? Boyz didn’t have a prison, drugs, or gangs, at least not named ones. It never said Dough Boy was in a gang per se.
Both movies do include a father and son though.
Great movie. Although flawed in some ways, the positives far outweigh some of the poorly read dialogue, which to me is really the only memorable flaw.
From the one prison scenes (“This a OG call....I’m taking him.”, “Are you prepared to walk alone like a man has to?”) to the climax with Glenn Plummer’s speech (“There’s no coming back from that.”), this movie’s dialogue has it all, and it really drives the message home.
My pleasure!
Because while Enzo the baker’s hands are trembling too much to light his smoke, Mike’s hand stays steady. Mike notices how he’s calm in the situation while Enzo is nervous as heck. I feel like it’s a turning-point for Michael.
