Isn't that the MO for the series? People starting Karate and excelling very fast to the point where they can beat up a dojo single handed? It was the premise for the original film too, no way Danielson would have ever got that far in real life.
lol
Just a joke based on the word "sleep". I haven't seen it but I am sure they really all had their turn with her. I am sure she would think she had her turn with them though.
Marie always put me off watching the show more often. I know she is meant to be the intrusive mother in law but she is just too lifelike!
Interesting photos and narration make a big difference, not that I have seen other people's slide shows but it makes sense if the person narrating doesn't know how to bring the photos to life or give them meaning than the slide show will be boring.
The last slide show he did was China and that was not nearly as interesting as Europe or USA. So subject also plays a part. I can see how photos of deserts and mountains in Israel would get old fast. Unless there is some interesting story to go with them they are just photos of sand.
I'm pre internet. There were always celebs who were famous for no other reason than they were famous, usually talentless or with dubious talent. Back then in Australia at least we didn't have Pay TV and only had 5 TV stations so people tended to watch the same things and TV shows and celebs had a bigger share of the market. Magazines, especially women's gossip rags also helped promote the talentless.
The internet has sped things up but Reality TV also introduced the concept of the ordinary person becoming a star. Big Brother, Survivor etc Paris Hilton although wealthy was also a no body for the most part before she started her "reality" shows.
Interesting you mention sports. Ray Gun the crap breakdancer from Australia got more media attention than anyone else during the Paris Olympics.
That said people have been making $$ from being nothing more than famous for a while now it’s not a new thing.
Yeah like late teens try to make it think more. I don’t have a lot of faith in AI really.
Yeah it seems like AI just randomly chose mainstream popular actors rather than put any thought into it.
In the early to mid 80's my Uncle went abroad a lot, USA, Canada, Europe, UK, China, New Zealand and he would take loads of photos and have them developed as slides. He would put on slide shows when he got back. For me what made it seem cooler than just normal photos was the size of the screen and these slide shows were done in a dark room so it provided a sense of immersion that you don't get from ordinary photos.
In the 2000's he went to UK, Germany and Ukraine and the photos this time were digital and he showed us via the laptop and it was not the same at all.
I love that. He is more African American than American born AA's.
Is it more because Sarah is an outcast?
I question why they cast American actors in two of the most iconic British personalities. Churchill was played well but by an American and Thatcher wasn't played well at all and also by an American. I didn't get any sense of her strength by the way she was portrayed and I couldn't help but think Anderson was mocking Thatcher due to Thatcher being Conservative.
I felt the same about Philip even though he could be clumsy at times with what he said. I like the ep where he explains to Diana that the only family member who matters is the Queen. Everyone else is support staff for her. I feel that Diana never liked the idea of being support and wanted to be the star. Philip always struck me as feeling emasculated as he was a Prince married to a Queen.
The ep where he interviews the astronauts was interesting as in he was seeking a higher level of awareness and was disappointed that the astronauts didn't feel anything otherworldly or godly while in space.
I agree, he was kind to Diana and she betrayed them all. I am assuming that what we see in the show has been corroborated by insiders. They have more than enough staff they rely on and the family themselves would talk to the media.
There would have been more who smoked back then, then those who didn't. Non smokers were seen as freaks.
Pretty standard for the times. Ever watched "Grease" or even "Beverly Hills 90210"?
A lot of TV shows of the 70's and 80's were preachy but in a different way to the Woke of today. They would teach morality tales and warnings of what is out there. Whereas with Woke it is more like "White man bad! Non White good!" Woke is political whereas the preachy stuff of the old shows was more like universal truths.
Yeah you would think their role would be to purely be tactical when required rather than investigating and community work and whatever else they decide to stick their noses in.
The thing I find with quirky characters like Garcia and Abby on NCIS is they get old quickly and don't evolve. There was an ep with Garcia getting very upset about a criminal getting the death penalty. With all the things she has seen she still feels sympathy for these people? I found that ep to be hard to watch. And yes the way she dressed was funny for all the wrong reasons.
I was exaggerating a little but a lot of the time Garcia is checking memberships for golf clubs and whatever to try and narrow down the personality type they think they are looking for. I'm not very tech savvy either.
With JJ it seems they realized they narrowed her role too much and wanted more screen time for her. Otherwise she probably wouldn't have been seen very much. Not every case would garner media attention. Speaking of why she carried a gun, didn't they regularly go in with SWAT teams? That never made sense to me, I would think the SWAT team would see them as getting in the way. I know it's TV and makes it more exciting.
Women play sports now? When did they start allowing that?
