Lots of nurses today smoke. I had someone in my family dying of congestive heart failure and in hospice and many of his nurses smoked. They didn’t smoke indoors but I’m sure it was still on their clothes.

There would have been more who smoked back then, then those who didn't. Non smokers were seen as freaks.
