"Just like you refuse to admit that he is a evil rapist." hahahahah go ahead and put words into my mouth that I never said or thought. i dont give two shits, not even 1 or half a one. make up what ever you like. :) how's the weather in your private little fucked up make believe world? is he getting constantly boosted here at moviechat? where is the polanski statue at? I believe REAL LAW dealt with him as best they could. does anyone run this board?? it should only be the character from the book, nothing else because: obvious logic no criminal should EVER be a celebrity. that's sick and wrong wow, just wow. is there no stopping pointless sequelitis? how is this politics?? It's social, it's society, it's you and me, not dems or repubs or gov or laws or etc etc etc cant you have a sense of humor for 49 seconds? this is GENERAL DISCUSSION, not movie discussion yes. any fiction you choose to makeup works. he also killed Sandy and Danny in GREASE when they went swimming which is why they fly away at the end. then he married Barbra Forste and produced Sarah Jessica Parker WHAT??? a FICTIONAL movie doesn't do what we think it should??? Stop the $#$%@*% PRESSES!!! This added so much to this discussion. Thank you for taking the time to educate everyone with 5 paragraphs of bullshit. We all benefit and praise you. yeah, it was drilling INTO the moon in that first 5 minutes action meh... it was okay, just another cookie cutter Emmerich film... and it was really cool in IMAX. forgettable, interesting sci-fi action do we even need to bother? programming those in? and would they develop on their own if they are all "self aware" and evolving and all that. we are driven and motivated by pain and pleasure... what will motivate sentient AI? A program? If so, is it really alive, or just processing? agreed, but where is the line drawn between AI simply mimicking us via programming to them being "alive" and knowing pain? I cut my finger, my brain does not just register there is a cut at this specific location... it feeds me searing pain at the damage done. AI will register location, then simply mimic how we programmed it to react, PRETENDING it feels a pain. we are, afterall, talking about AI becoming self away, and feeling and being like us.... but yeah, maybe there is no need for pain/pleasure in AI, just the knowing it needs to fix itself. i think we're on the same page, I just keep wondering about the "actual pain feelings" part, that doesn't exist in a non-organic AI life form. or pleasure that would drive it to self replicate, as is in us. is that you, elmacho? :D i like that. still, if an AI detects hot temperature, labels it with a number above "pain threshold", it still doesn't FEEL any pain, just reacts per our programming. if a chunk of metal gets hot, it doesn't feel or know pain, it just melts. if we get too hot to burn, our brain tells us it feels OUCH or "hot" to us. Isn't the AI merely reacting to preprogramming: it feels hot from distance, back away similar with the pleasure model: we eat sugar or have sex and it tastes or feels great, and we want more. Is programming AI to react that same way, just bits and bytes calling out a reaction to seek more of it, but no feeling drive behind it? If I tell AI it LOVES to have sex or make paper clips the same way, it would make both exactly equal per programming. I'm not sure if I am stating my point very clear.... we feel specific things for pain/pleasure that we could describe in great detail from our personal experience. robots/AI "Feel" nothing and only react to preprogrammed ways. We could program pain like, hot temp, to be something "desired" wanted, driven to... which doesn't make sense to living creatures that are alive. you mean they actually LIKE something? :D yep. and here I thought this show might be about Star Trek. Silly me. yeah, we have definitely gotten to the "too much free time on our hands" part of movie society. we find all these silly coincidences, and count and match occurrences, make up wrong theories... it's just gotten stupid out there.
