i do certainly agree with using less normal earth settings, those were not my favorite episodes either :) Much preferred the weirdo pink skies, and werid generic rocks and strange plants style planets

Agreed. I don't think I have watched it twice after buying on DVD.
But it was probably game changing at the time of release.
By now there have been so many better copies and knock offs that this didn't stand a chance.
But I do respect its place in history
Personally, I feel ALL tv is a vast wasteland designed to sell soap.
What is interesting to me is us future people are unable to view these old shows as they felt in the past as ground breaking amazing fresh unique entertainment like it was viewed back then.
Our tastes interests and expectations have evolved a ton since the early tv days and none of the old stuff will ever live up to today's standards.
But it was also just a cheap TV show to sell soap or whatever. Sets were reused earth location sets already existed. They did what they had to do to keep budget low.
Bad as it honestly is NOW it still managed bunches of spin off shows movies and even a culture and world wide fan base. Even today.
Where as lost is space Jetsons space 1999 etc have not.
As a kid I do remember how really cool star trek was at the time. We even played out doors on various missions to planet back yard or woods. Great times because of a great show that is cemented in time now as a classic.

I don't even LIKE it. But millions of others seem to. And that is allowed.
But, even though I dislike heavy metal music, I don't go around calling the successful ones "Cons". I'm glad they are successful in that section of music. Good on them.
She actually does write her own songs. Song writing is not hard, just most people dont know how, or do it for profit.

The only con is the whole industry that has been inside buying the sales numbers for decades.
Maybe not, but that doesn't make her unsuccessful.
I'm no musical historian but what I notice is OLDER stuff, CLASSICS if you will, became important and stay as the first and ealiest things.... music, paintings, buildings.... now that the world has advanced, we have a million more options and less things STAY, and are replaced by newer cooler better (according to the latest generation at the time). So... meh... you will always finding Taylor stuff staying, along side the 300,000 other artists out there.
Classical music will remain a STANDARD of olde skool quality music forever.... it's still being made today also, but almost no one KNOWS any modern classical famous songs outside of some movie soundtracks.

Are they losing money now? well, that answer is no.
Her business acumen has her
- topping charts for 2 decades
- making loads of money
- selling out massive tours
- owning a very successful "Brand" and "product"
- when her old recordings sold without her connection, she RE-RECORDED those recordings to sell to fans INSTEAD, effectively rendering the old catalog profitless.... instantly. Not sure if this idea was her own or the team, but it is still great business and a big F YOU to the buyers.
There are basically two musical perspective for music creation:
1. be a free and broke "artist", making music exactly how you "FEEL", which may possibly appeal to a very tiny, broke, niche audience, or....
2. make entertaining music you enjoy which is also designed to have as large an audience appeal as possible to sell more product and shows.
And there is nothing WRONG with either. Just different things.
If she is a "Fraud" does this mean anyone could stand alone on stage infront of thousands and thousands of people and lip sync or sing and dance like her? Where are all those people?
Is she faking, and conning all the investments that are in her brand?
Is the majority of her fans feeling slighted like they are conned, or do they enjoy her silly songs about breakups young love? I bet they enjoy it.... with no gun to their head.
Again, I'm ZERO fan of her music, but I know of it's well crafted lyrics, hookable melodies, proper song formula usage. And I respect her successful craft. Honestly, I rarely listen to her songs when they come on, and usually change the station when they do.
But my disinterest doesn't sway my perspective of her actual success.
And now that she is barking politics, I'm even less interested in her. But her success still stands on its own.
We don't have a lord. I told you, we're an anarcho-syndicalist commune. We take it in turns to be a sort of executive officer for the week but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs but by a two thirds majority.

well... my concept is "Woke Comedy" as the polar opposition of "anti-woke comedy".
All the non-woke comedians that make fun of whites, blacks, gays, what have you.... meaning WOKE Comedians will DEI the funny and not make fun of anything or anyone that could be triggered, offended, mad and protest the comedy to get them cancelled.
so, if dave chappelle is cracking jokes about trannys being not WOKE, where is the polar opposite of this and is it funny?
yeah its totally about the awkward. I do get that, but it didn't work FOR ME. Everyone is different.
tried his fake trial, and although there was some absurdist in it, none of that was absurdist/funny to me like monty python etc.
we're all differenent.
never got the impression he is "woke" IE making sure not to offend any one, and all inclusive jokes

first 5 min was fumbling with mic stand, acting mad about it.
Then after wasting more time on fake improv - like literally trying to just kill time - he talks about doing stuff.
He's got the delivery, mannerisms, and voice, but no jokes, just reiterating stuff.
Everyone is allowed to enjoy different styles of comedy, so, to me, this guy wasn't funny.
I'll look for another video but he's not very popular I guess
