LOL “Carol” prolly just missed out on being the “Karen” of the bossy-white-mom-with-short-hair meme. The Costanzas and Puddy would seem to have the most promise. People would tire of Newman’s bunion stories quiclkly. Supposedly there is (or was) a dearth of single, college-educated, hetero males living in NYC: “In Manhattan, the numbers are even more dire, with 38 percent more young female college grads than male. Birger says the imbalance is also exacerbated by New York’s large population of gay males. Some 9 to 12 percent of men in Manhattan are gay, according to Gary Gates, a demographics expert at UCLA’s Williams Institute.” https://nypost.com/2015/08/25/hey-ladies-here-are-8-reasons-youre-single/ Although you’d still think that short, balding, stocky, unemployed men who live with their parents would have a tough time finding a date much less having a shot at Marisa Tomei. Not that I loved them but ‘The Honeymooners’ or ‘I Love Lucy’ probably have stronger claims based on their much earlier success in the, then new format. I agree; his stance seemed out of character. It’s not like she was too perfect or ate her peas in and odd way. They seemed to be impressed with the (apparent) pertness of her breasts as much as their size. Whether Teri’s actual breasts lived up to the storyline is another question. Lots of actresses wear bra inserts (a.k.a. Chicken cutlets) to enhance their bustline in such circumstances, though. Penny (Angela Cartwright) I much prefer the 80s to the 70s but I’d always for a chance at a life do-over if I am permitted to retain the knowledge of my first life - even assuming prohibitions against changing world events or profiting financially from knowledge of future events. There are many things I’d do differently that have nothing to do with the era or the Brady’s. I thought Landes was great and was disappointed when he left the show. He has handsome but, IMO, not moreso than Cain. Like deem714, I’d heard he left over disagreement about money. As I can’t remember ever seeing him in anything after that, I wonder if he regrets his hardball tactics. Teri in her first two seasons Erica Kate Amy Teri in the later seasons Agreed - she looked best in the first two seasons. I preferred her in short hair and and a healthy weight. There’s only so many times you can hear Carmine sing “From Rags to Riches” without gagging. Shirley should have cut him loose early on. She kept him as a back-up in case she never met her Mr. Right. Maybe one or both of the parents was the beneficiary of an inheritance (or alimony and child support) which helped the family finances. So hot. It was ridiculous how the male character’s drooled over Jennifer but ignored Bailey’s obvious beauty, not to mention her good nature. Bailey all the way. I found her more attractive as a kid and I still feel so today. Certainly, Jennifer was also attractive, though. I never found Ginger alluring on Gilligan’s Island. I thought it was weird they took her on vacations, too. I bet Carol told Mike that unless Alice came along, it wouldn’t have been much of a relaxing vacation for her [Carol]. Either that, or the Brady’s felt she was so much a part of the family that it seemed natural to have her along. But, if that was the case, why wouldn’t Alice eat with them at mealtime, too? I remember that Carol and Alice went grocery shopping together and Carol would sometimes be in the kitchen, presumably helping with food prep. It’s not hard to believe that there was enough work, in a family of that size, to go around. Absent Alice the kids probably would have had more chores, the house would have been a bit more unkempt and they would have had fewer home-cooked meals. As a kid, I had a strong negative initial reaction to his curly hairdo but it grew on me. I still prefer him with straight hair, parted. It’s been 40 years since I watched the show but I’m guessing it was homeroom or some sort of remedial instruction.
