I enjoyed Batman Begins' story. The movie was never boring (saw it twice in theaters). Sure, it does take an hour to get to the Batman stuff and sometimes when I watch the movie I just want to get straight to the "good stuff" aka the Batman stuff, but that first hour isn't all that boring and I can still sit through it. I'd say the action scenes are more of a problem than the movie's story/pacing, although I've watched Batman Begins so much that I can understand the action scenes and figure out what's going on. I didn't mind the story to the first Avatar movie. Everything has been done before. It's just the filmmakers' job to repackage stuff and tell things in a different way. That's all Avatar did. Also, I gave Avatar's story a pass since back in the day, I only saw one or two movies with the same kind of story, although I still haven't gotten around to watching the other ones people compare Avatar to. But everything has been done before in some capacity. It's just up to the writers or filmmakers to repackage it in a different way. So in a way, expect Avatar 2 and the other Avatar sequels to borrow or "steal" stories/plots of other movies. Everything has been done before. And if you think Avatar committed some crime, how many different versions of the Scrooge story do we need? We get one or two new versions of A Christmas Carol EVERY Christmas. Or how many biopics of Princess Diana do we need? Since her death, we've gotten one/get one every 2-3 years whether it's a theatrical movie, a miniseries, or a Made-For-TV movie. About enough of that. And she hasn't been dead that long (well, at the time of this comment being written since someone could be reading this comment years or decades in the future). So the type of story Avatar has hasn't really been done too many times compared to some other types of stories/biographies. That's the thing about The Riddler though. While he has all these small riddles going on, there is a bigger/master riddle The Riddler has going on and usually clues/hints to the bigger/master riddle is hidden within the smaller clues. So it makes sense to kind of keep things going after The Riddler is caught. The Riddler was killing off all these corrupt people in law enforcement and government, but really he was working on a master plan to flood Gotham because there was still corrupt people among the rest of the citizens including the mob (Falcone and Penguin, for example). Also, he was going to kill off the new mayor as well since she wouldn't really do much to help the city since how corrupt the city was or she'd end up corrupt herself or just be all talk. A lot of government officials are just all talk and say stuff so they can win the election/be elected. Very few government officials stick to their promises. So killing off the new mayor and flooding Gotham was the bigger riddle and The Riddler left clues to it, mainly that carpeting tool that he used to kill the mayor with at the beginning of movie. Batman was a little too late to figure out The Riddler's master/bigger riddle, but this all led to a positive since Gotham didn't know what to think of Batman. So Batman got to save the day and be looked at as the hero of Gotham. And it also changed Bruce's thoughts of himself and the purpose of Batman. So maybe Bruce might ditch this "emo" look that everyone likes to call it and have more of a look that everyone thinks of when they think of Bruce (I'm talking about the fans). Plus maybe he can be a little more sociable than what we saw throughout the movie. But yeah. Everything after The Riddler was caught was still needed. There still needed to be that master riddle that The Riddler is known to have, and Batman needed to become a hero of the city. I was sort of thinking one of Sienna's friends. Those two had some of the most brutal/extreme/goriest deaths in the movie, but I wasn't 100% sure. Well, Art does do goofy stuff after killing a person, especially if there is someone around he can turn to and make a face at and stuff. But I think I get what Redban is saying about cartoonish. Go watch the shootout in Django Unchained after Leonardo DiCaprio's character dies/is killed. The way the gore/blood is done in that shootout, you kind of laugh at it because of how ridiculous it gets. Like a guy keeps getting shot (especially when Django uses him as cover) and blood is spraying everywhere every time he is shot. It's kind of graphic, but a little humorous (or cartoonish) because of how over-the-top/ridiculous it is. You are more laughing at stuff than being disgusted/grossed out. The gore is a little extreme and disgusting at times in Terrifier 2 than Django Unchained, but there is still that over-the-top/ridiculousness to it at the same time. With Terrifier 2, you are looking away and kind of laughing at the same time. Hopefully I explained stuff well. I'm trying to explain stuff while tired. I think the scene in the firs movie of the girl getting sawed in half was more graphic and stuff than anything in the sequel. Also, I had to pause Saw 3 about 2-3 times during the brain surgery scene. I never really had to pause Terrifier 2 and take a break like Saw 3. All I had to do while watching Terrifier 2 was look away for about a second or two. So I sort of think someone (well, maybe more than just one person) overhyped the movie's gore a little too much. Same thing with Hellraiser 2022. I heard that movie was SUPER gory as well. Wasn't too bad. Like Terrifier 2, I just had to look away for a couple seconds at a time when watching Hellraiser 2022. There was no pausing or tapping out. I don't recall a kill/death scene like that (that was mentioned in the blacked out area). Just heads getting ripped off along with arms, legs, and hands. Plus internal organs getting ripped out, or Art would open them up so you get a second or two of seeing their insides. The movie was pretty gory, but I feel I've seen worse. It was mostly a lot of blood, not so much gore. I want to say one of the Saw movies or Hellraiser movies were worse, especially since I had to pause Saw 3 like 2-3 times during the brain surgery scene because I had the feeling of throwing up (and the feeling led to me sweating a little bit), but I never paused Terrifier 2 because of the gore being too much. All I had to do at times was just look away. The only time I did pause Terrifier 2 was because I needed to go to the bathroom and couldn't hold it in any longer. And I paused the movie and went to the bathroom during a "downtime" scene. Not during a death/kill scene. Also, nothing in Terrifier 2 grossed me out like the scene in the first Terrifier where the girl gets slice/sawed in half. Maybe because they had Art take his time sawing her in half, but everything in Terrifier 2 was quick cuts/happened quickly. Nothing felt too dragged out/kept going and going like the scene in the first movie. I wasn't sure if it was THE/THEE Chris Jericho, or if someone else interesting enough had the same stage name (except theirs was their real name (it might be possible, you never know)). Kind of like how there is two Stings (the wrestler and musician). But I got my answer when I got to that scene. I was actually hoping he would be in the movie more, or at least sooner. I slightly forgot about him though being in the movie when I saw his name in the opening credits. I almost want to say that's a bad thing because the movie didn't need to be over 2 hours, and I was sort of wanting the movie to wrap up/end by the 1 hour 45-50 minute mark. So with me saying, "just end already!!!", it made me forget Chris Jericho was in the movie and to look out for him. Plus the last 20-30 minutes heavily focused on the main girl, her brother, and Art. So that led me to slightly forget that I saw Chris Jericho's name in the opening credits. But I mainly want to blame it on the movie's runtime and it starting to drag a little. The movie wasn't too bad. I managed to survive. I thought I would need to take several breaks while watching the movie. I was someone that REALLY got grossed out when watching the one girl get sliced/sawed in half in the first movie (I finished the first movie, but came to the conclusion that it was a one-time watch after that scene of the girl getting sliced in half). I'm also someone that had to pause Saw 3 about 2-3 times during the brain surgery scene and go for a walk around the house each time since I wanted to throw up (I was sweating heavily during that scene and had the urge to throw up (the feeling of throwing up causes me to sweat)). So I thought all these claims about Terrifier 2 were going to be one of those rare times to be correct. I've been hearing Terrifier 2 tops the scene of the girl getting sawed in half, and if I couldn't handle that scene, that I was in BIG trouble when I watched Terrifier 2. But I got through Terrifier 2 just fine. I never really had to pause the movie and go for a walk since I was sweating and felt like I needed to throw up. I didn't tap out either and shut off the movie. I handled things fine. All I had to do when things got extreme (gore wise) was simply look away for about a second or two. I'll probably never watch Terrifier 2 again though (like the first movie), but I survived it. And I only watched the sequel because I heard it was one of the best horror movies of 2022 and all that. Plus I did it for bragging rights. But yeah. I got through the movie fine overall. So I suppose once again, I can call BS on these claims of people vomiting and fainting and all that "fun" stuff they always say happens when there is a new horror movie coming out and had early screenings. Terrifier 2 is a little more believable when it comes to these claims than some of the previous movies throughout the years, but still, overall, I can sort of call BS on the claims once again. My favorite Jason/Friday The 13th movie happens to be Part 6. I like how it's more of an action movie and we get this big Tommy Jarvis vs. Jason thing throughout the movie. You don't really get that in the other Friday The 13th movies. It's just Jason stalking/killing random people for 90 minutes or so and ends with some Jason vs. final girl chase/showdown and they don't really have any connection with each other. Plus Tommy accidentally brings Jason back to life, so he trying to fix a problem he started. So I like that too. And that kind of ties into the whole Tommy vs. Jason thing I mentioned. I almost want to say that Part 6 is a revenge movie, but I don't really know if that's the right way to put stuff. Maybe a revenge gone wrong since when Tommy goes to make sure Jason is really alive and wants to fully get rid of the body, he ends up accidentally bringing Jason back to life and then has to fix stuff, which leads to some final showdown and Tommy facing his fears and trauma Jason caused. I kind of feeling like I'm looking too deep into the movie, especially since it's a slasher movie, but really, all this came to me almost instantly when watching the movie. I didn't really dissect the movie. I just put it on one day because I was doing a Friday The 13th marathon, and as I was watching, all these things came to me instantly. My brain/thinking process does that sometimes. No one can ever be happy. Same thing with The Dark Knight Rises and The Batman. Everyone complained there was barely any Batman in TDKR and too much Bruce Wayne, but then we get The Batman and everyone complains WAY too much Batman and not enough Bruce Wayne. That's part of why I just shake my head and laugh at these stupid "reshoot Halloween Ends" petitions going on. That's what I'm going with. She seemed like a completely different person once Challis saves her/reunites with her after she is taken. In the first half of the movie, Ellie is pretty talkative. But once she is saved, she doesn't say a single word. The Ellie we got to know from the first half of the movie would said a couple things. Even if she had to whisper. Plus she was lacking facial expressions once Challis saves her. It's like she had just one look on her face the whole time once she is saved. But her face was moving all around in the first half. And then there is that why would Cochran go through all this trouble to get Challis to come to the town his factory is in? Plus why was he specifically targeting Challis? Also, Cochran's androids/robots don't speak much. They are very silent. The only time I recall an android ever speaking in the movie was when the one told Cochran that the camera in the room Challis was tied up in was down. Maybe once more when Cochran and the androids are watching Challis and "Ellie" trying to escape the factory through the surveillance cameras. Ellie just seemed too talkative in the first half to be an android/robot when comparing stuff. So to me, everything points to she was a human for the first half and then was killed off and replaced with a robot/android. Yeah. It's nothing Oscar worthy. Just fun. I do praise the movie a lot, but I always throw in there that it's nothing Oscar worthy. Plus I wouldn't say it's in my top 10 or even top 20 favorite movies of all time, although I've never really sat down and thought of my favorite movies because my answer could vary depending on my mood. I also like a little bit of everything. And Halloween 3 could be better. For example, I don't like the whole thing where they make Ellie a robot at the end of the movie and they leave it open for debate if she was a robot the whole time or they killed her off and made a robot version of her offscreen once they grabbed her from the motel room. I'm one of those that are on the side of the debate that she was human in the beginning and they did something to her and made a robot version of her. I notice she starts acting odd/out of character when Challis/Tom Atkins saves her/reunites with her, especially being very silent. She doesn't say a single word. Ellie seems like a talkative person and would've said a couple things once Challis saves her. But this whole debate/twist kind of feels shoehorned in and they needed one last shocking moment/twist. The final battle or whatever you want to call it between Challis and Cochran could've been better too. I was always a little iffy on the brief romance between Challis and Ellie too. Challis just seems too old for Ellie, although Ellie says she is older than she looks. But I'm sure there is still like a 5-10 year age difference between the two, which seems a little weird, although my parents are 12 years apart in age and they got married when my mom was 18. But I guess when watching a movie or TV show, an age gap like that seems a little off. And then there is all the horror stories that go on in Hollywood. Did they get the idea for Challis and Ellie because of all the disgusting stuff that goes on in Hollywood behind the scenes? Makes you kind of question stuff. Yep. Just like I said in my comment above. In my opinion, it earned the "Halloween" part of the title. I'd sort of put Resurrection above Halloween 5. Mainly for pacing. Resurrection flies by and is kind of fun. Plus a few of the things people hate of the movie (like the trick or treat line or Busta Rhymes altogether), I kind of enjoy. Pretty much, if you know Ramboraph4life's thoughts on the movie, that's pretty much my thoughts on the movie. I agree with him on stuff about the movie. As for Halloween 5, the pacing is SUPER slow. The movie feels like it's 3 hours instead of 90 minutes like all the other Halloween movies. It just keeps going and going. It feels longer than The Batman and that movie is close to 3 hours. There are other issues I have with Halloween 5 as well, but the main one is just pacing. Actually, Tina isn't one of the problem I have with the movie. I hate her first scene, but after that, I can overall tolerate her. But yeah. I'd say Resurrection is a better movie than Halloween 5. Well, I don't have to make this thread. Was going to make this thread because I needed to rant. I'm part of a Halloween spoilers discussion group on Facebook. Man, are people on there spamming the news feed with this petition crap. I want to say it originated there. But it's completely ridiculous. And when you tell them to shut up and get over it/let it go, they blow up on you. And all you have to do is just say "shut up" or "let it go" or "get over it" and they reply with comments that are filled with cussing and name calling. All that "fun" stuff. There are plenty of movies I didn't like over the years of my existence, but you don't see me making petitions to have them changed. I do agree that this wasn't the best choice/direction for the final movie and maybe Halloween Kills and Ends should've swapped overall plots, but signing a petition? No. That's just ridiculous and going a little too far on complaining. I also see Halloween Ends as a movie where it's probably best to read spoilers ahead of time. I read spoilers ahead of time, knew what to expect, and was a little more patient with the movie. I enjoyed it a little more than others because of reading spoilers. I wouldn't say Halloween Ends is the best Halloween movie, but it's also not the worst and it's not my #1 least favorite. If I were to rank the Halloween movies, Halloween Ends would be somewhere in the middle, but probably more in the bottom half. I think there are 13 movies (as of 2022, just in case someone is reading this in like 5-10 years or so when there might be more Halloween movies by then). So I'd say Halloween Ends would be somewhere in the #7-9 spot. I'd have to REALLY think about it. Right now at the time of this comment being typed/written, it's just an estimation. You want nudity so bad, there is this thing that was invented in the 90's called Google. Plus Google Images. Just go look up stuff there before watching the movie if you want to see T&A so badly. Oh and guess what? It's available 24/7. The ending has already leaked. SPOILERS Laurie lives and Michael dies. Laurie slits Michael's throat, and then Laurie and the people of Haddonfield crush Michael's body at a junkyard. Allyson makes it out alive also along with Hawkins. Corey is killed as well. Michael snaps his neck. So no passing of the torch like people thought with Corey and him becoming some new Michael Myers. Nope. I've been following the making of of this movie for like 10 years now (thanks to "liking" a bunch of Halloween appreciation pages on Facebook that would post rumors and stuff about Hocus Pocus 2). Bette, Kathy, and Sarah have/had been on standby to return for the last 10 years or so (since about the late 2000's or early 2010's, but around 2015-2017 things REALLY picked up). Hocus Pocus 2's script was pretty much written a couple months or so before the movie was filmed. So they had agreed to come back WAY, WAY before the ending of Hocus Pocus 2 was written (along with Hocus Pocus 2 altogether) and before they were given the scripts. They signed on/agreed before they saw anything. So theory debunked. I never laughed once. Nothing was funny about the movie. Everything was just stupid comedy wise. I was too busy shaking my head and stuff anytime the movie tried being funny. Or I was like, "um, yeah, that was funnier in the first movie" or "oh yay, ANOTHER reference to the first movie." (I was saying that in a sarcastic way since I'm about done with movie references and nostalgia in movies now.)
