The worst of the Halloween movies

The acting was terrible even for a slasher film. Michael in a car was ridiculous. I have never seen another movie in the series as bad as this one. Anyone agree?

Well, the biggest problem was the rush to production. Less than a year between films left it unpolished and not well thought out. Michael drove the station wagon in the original and impersonated Non under a sheet. This is no different in 5. At least they have the same name this time. Some might consider Resurrection the worst, Busta Rhymes, killing Laurie, webcam college kids the worst. Others, like me consider Rob Zombie's Halloween II the worst. It's all perspective.

Of which is worse, one thing is certain. It's either 5, Resurrection, or Zombie's H2. You nailed it there. Really no point in arguing which it is!

All of the sequels are total horse sh*t.

It's all a deep end.

Not all, though they do go a long way downhill. Some had good qualities in feel, atmosphere, if you will, score, actors, actresses, such as the now popular Paul Rudd, Josh Hartnett, etc. Some were mistakes, like 3 and Rob's H2, some were rushed, like 5, some were a mess, like 6 and some even jumped on fads and handwagons, but the attempts were admirable and there's only one I regret was ever made and that's the last one. Even then, it introduced me to the likes of Angela Trimbur, which isn't bad.

I've seen much worse in my lifetime, let me tell you. Psychics, Jason in NY, a body hopping worm and space. While Freddy went Meta and vs. in his last go rounds, not counting the awful remakes Friday which fit 4 films in 1. Nightmare which went full pedophile. Some franchises went straight to video, something Halloween has never done.

So in the grand scheme, Halloween's the least of the worst, IMO.

I LIKE IT...

There is no planet in the universe where the Busta Rhymes and Paul Rudd ones aren't the worst.

Did you not see Resurrection yet?

I'd sort of put Resurrection above Halloween 5. Mainly for pacing. Resurrection flies by and is kind of fun. Plus a few of the things people hate of the movie (like the trick or treat line or Busta Rhymes altogether), I kind of enjoy. Pretty much, if you know Ramboraph4life's thoughts on the movie, that's pretty much my thoughts on the movie. I agree with him on stuff about the movie. As for Halloween 5, the pacing is SUPER slow. The movie feels like it's 3 hours instead of 90 minutes like all the other Halloween movies. It just keeps going and going. It feels longer than The Batman and that movie is close to 3 hours. There are other issues I have with Halloween 5 as well, but the main one is just pacing. Actually, Tina isn't one of the problem I have with the movie. I hate her first scene, but after that, I can overall tolerate her. But yeah. I'd say Resurrection is a better movie than Halloween 5.

Maybe you’re right. I actually watched a fanedit when I rewatched 5 this year so I don’t remember the pacing of the theatrical cut.

I also watched one for Resurrection which definitely improved it. Not least because it moved the majority of the Laurie stuff to the end which works much better.
