I agree, I think he had accepted that he was going to die and wanted to go out in a blaze of glory (excuse the pun). She didn't need all 3... she could wipe out the whole army without risking all 3 dragons. I liked this film.. I know it hasn't got great reviews so was expecting to be disappointed, but I thought it was well done. I don't think she's meant to be likeable... she's VERY opinionated and arrogant, but there are people like her in the world. I completely agree.. I wish it had been an open-ended film. I usually hate that and want some resolution but this was the perfect film for not getting full answers. Even if we did get answers, I wish it was practically anything other than aliens!! We don't know what "Ben" had done to warrant the breakup or how long it had been. It could be that she just needed some time to get over him before talking it over. As for John Goodman, he was a complete nutcase, he didn't seem to be able to recognise that she was a grown woman and goodness knows what he would have done after a few months of them being alone... I don't blame her for wanting to escape. What did annoy me was the way John Goodmans character fell over into the acid during her escape, there was absolutely no explanation for why he fell and it just seemed like lazy writing! I also wish they had kept us guessing at the end whether there really were aliens/zombies/Russians outside or whether he was just a crazy prepper who didn't want to let her go. I agree, I've completely lost interest in this last season, I can't think of one episode I've really enjoyed or which has even kept my attention. When they showed the flashbacks at the end, it made me really sad that the days when Doctor Who was fun and not just a dreary dirge are gone... I really hope the new Doctor sees a change in that but I'm not holding my breath as it seems to be more about the storylines than Peter Capaldi himself. Just what I was about to say... don't ever tell a Scot that they're English!! I enjoyed it.. It was a very different film to the other Wolverine movies (I wouldn't even say it really was a Wolverine movie)... it was much more about him as a person than his powers. It wasn't cheery though, that much is for certain. I enjoyed it but I don't think it had as much of a plot as the original film and I think it spent too much time trying to recreate scenes/moments from the first film. I did enjoy aspects of it but it just didn't measure up for me (but then I had fond memories of the 90s which is why it just doesn't have the same atmosphere for me). Yeah, it was a little extreme but they were always the odd comic relief! I think the main story is true (i.e. he was a hero who saved many lives) but some parts are added for dramatic effect. I don't believe that someone would show such little respect for a human body (particularly one of their own) to use a torso as a shield (at least I hope they wouldn't). It doesn't change the overall story, its just added to increase the drama. I think that was the point.. he only made the catalyst for the art, to see how people would react and it brought a lot of good and a lot of bad. It brought communities together to have fun and enjoy it at times, it brought people out who sought to destroy it, but it also brought out people who tried to restore it with wet-wipes. It brought out people who tried to benefit financially from it, but it also did good for some causes. I also really enjoyed that he was happy to make fun of the art snobs as well as himself! I've never heard anyone say that English and Irish accents sound similar! A lot of Americans seem to find it hard to differentiate between English and Australian accents though. I think he had just had enough of it all.. he wasn't a killer, he is just a writer and didn't want to be dragged into all of this. If either of them is a bad friend, it's the one who almost got them all killed! Exactly, it was about having dominance over these big strong men.. He reminded me of Louis Theroux as well but I'm not sure it was intentional, I think it was just his style. I think the quote from his manager towards the end is very true.. Russell is there to get us thinking but to follow him would be a mistake. He doesn't have any answers and I don't agree with everything he says but I think it's unusual to see someone so passionate and articulate about the issues. I think he certainly raises some very interesting points which do get me thinking and I hope he gets other people thinking too. I agree... I prefer just having the few main characters with Stuart, Burt and Kripke used now and then.. I don't think Stuart is interesting enough to be in the show as much as he is, it's always the same joke that he's a useless mooch. I agree, it's heartbreaking because it's true for so many people's lives! The scene in the food bank was really difficult to watch. Let's hope people have some sense and don't vote the Tories back in (I'm not holding my breath on that though).
