Their chemistry and friendship didn't remind of me close friends at all. Marty seemed to make everything about him, and wanted it always to be about him. Then during the end scenes, with the final showdown in the desert, when Billy had Charlie's dog in the standoff, why did Marty just leave Billy alone allowing Billy to get killed? When Marty got in the car, I thought he was going to turn around and try to run over Charlie and his hitman, but no.

As for their dynamic, I think that was part of the film. Martyr want necessarily as good a friend to Sam as Sam was for him, but he also wasn't a psychopathic killer, so it all balances out.

shareI think he had just had enough of it all.. he wasn't a killer, he is just a writer and didn't want to be dragged into all of this. If either of them is a bad friend, it's the one who almost got them all killed!
