I agree.. I think people would react much more negatively to Daryl dying because his character has developed so much in the course of the show. We have seen that despite him having a tough exterior, he really does have a heart of gold. On the other hand, Rick started off as quite a gentle character and we've seen him develop into someone who would kill anyone even at the slightest inkling it may be beneficial to his group. I don't mind Rick but I also wouldn't be heartbroken if they killed off his character. I was more upset about Glen. And this is what the Tories honestly believe because they've never experienced hardship themselves. It wasn't her medical expenses because I assume she was treated by the NHS however the film suggests he had to give up work to look after her. I don't think there is any suggestion that he was conning them, he's just like they are, looking for a quick buck. And how would this system stop fraud?? There will still be people who claim benefits fraudulently whilst honest people like Daniel Blake suffer. The Tories are disgusting, they honestly believe people like Daniel Blake are lazy when he has (as far as we can tell) worked his whole life and just experienced a set back. He has paid into the system and deserves help in his hour of need. The Tories don't understand suffering, they just think people like Daniel Blake are lazy and should just try harder (and I say this as someone who has never claimed benefits). His doctor says he isn't fit to work yet as he may need further treatment to regulate his heart. Brexit didn't happen because of the right wing government but it did happen because of an increase in the far right supporters in the country. Obviously everyone who voted for Brexit isn't far right, but a lot of them are! Not to mention the fact that a lot of our NHS workers come from other EU countries.. who is to say they will want to, or be able to come over here to work once we're out of the EU? We will struggle to run the NHS without EU workers! So why on earth would an administrator know more about medical issues than a doctor or a nurse? IF there was blackmailing going on, the government needed to deal with that rather than push the responsibility onto other people who have no medical experience and targets to cut as many benefits as possible. They're just as likely to be blackmailed as anyone (I would say more likely than a doctor in fact). So far this episode looks as though it will be good! I wonder how they come up with all the tasks.. my favourite ever is still when Romesh smashed the watermelon into smithereens! So far I've only seen 2 episodes but I'm enjoying it. It appears the ratings go up from here too so I'm optimistic. I struggled with the format of this film to start with, it's definitely original but it quickly sucks you in. I'm not sure I would put it in my top 5 films but it certainly raises some interesting questions about human nature. I thought Nicole Kidman was amazing in the first rape scene, I thought it was understated and seemed very true to life.. and the end scene when she talks about the children is just chilling! Of course she had other options but for whatever reason, she didn't feel able to go through with the pregnancy. It's much easier said than done to just have the baby and have it adopted. I didn't find him to be a particularly good actor or singer, maybe that's how the man really was though. My cat can give me her paw.. she would never sit on my shoulder like Bob does though as she's scared of traffic (thank goodness!) She is called Meg I believe James moved to Australia with his mum and he was talking to his dad about it as his dad had said at the time he couldn't go because he was scared of flying.. but he admitted he wasn't scared of flying, he just didn't feel able to be a dad. The photo was of James when he was a little boy and he showed it to him to show that he had always had him in his thoughts, even though he had been a terrible father. I didn't realise they had changed her character as I haven't read the book.. what was she like in the book? I wondered about benefits too as I'm sure he wasn't relying solely on his Big Issue/busking money.. it also annoyed me that he kept buying tins of fish for the cat instead of proper cat food which probably would have been cheaper. That said, whilst I'm sure it was dramatised, it is based on a true story. Yeah, I missed the relevance of that too. Thanks for clarifying Shredder. They're just trying to survive and are assuming that any other groups are in a similar position to them. It doesn't affect their survival if there is another group in Europe for example, so they don't waste their time thinking about it.
