Nice to see you revive this thread again! 😃 I love the guitar playing in this song..."The Future's So Bright (I Gotta Wear Shades)" by Timbuk 3. Yes, you seem to be correct in your post regarding Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. The one difference back then between them was that Johnny Cash (even though he did play the Newport Festival) wasn't really thought of as a "folk artist" (Believe it or not, he was actually thought of more as a "rock & roll singer" back then...one of the criticisms of Johnny Cash's music back then and continuing during his career was that his music really didn't fit into "one genre" of music...he did rock & roll, country, gospel, etc. ). Bob Dylan, on the other hand, was thought of as a "folk artist" and electric instruments for folk artists back then were a big "no no." Dylan was kind of the "chosen one" when it came to folk music back then and he really did upset a lot of the "folk music purists" when he went electric in 1965 (i.e., from what I've read and heard...I wasn't born until 1969, but I love the music of the 1960s). It seems funny now that it caused so much controversy, but I'm glad he did it. How I wish I had been alive to experience the music of the 1960s as it happened! Glenn Frey's death was really sad to me. The Eagles have been a part of my life for so many years and Frey was someone whose music I listened to for years and years. Hard to believe he's been dead over 9 years now. A couple of recent ones from the sports world...Joe Morgan and Pete Rose. Baseball was my favorite sport growing up as a kid and I was a huge Cincinnati Reds' fan (I saw 11 Reds' games at the old Riverfront Stadium from 1980 to 1990). The Big Red Machine was such a huge part of my life as a kid. Morgan was the first to go and then Pete went last year (complex legacy and all). But those two really hit me hard. I still miss Tom Petty. 😥 1. Doctor Zhivago (1965) 2. The Bridges of Madison County (1995) 3. Fatal Attraction (1987) 4. Chloe (2010) 5. Body Heat (1981) 6. Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1970) 7. Dial M for Murder (1954) 8. Same Time, Next Year (1978) 9. Revolutionary Road (2008) I'm really happy to see this movie doing so well. My middle son is a huge fan of the Dog Man books (He read his first one in 2nd grade... he's a high-school freshman now!). I will probably take my boys to see this one in the theater also...nice to see some family-friendly entertainment succeed. I hope he continues to make these...he has a really good thing going with these movies (I finally took my boys to see it a couple of weeks ago...we all enjoyed it). I couldn't imagine a Sonic movie without him. Congratulations to her! Taken down on Groundhog Day... that's a pretty good run! 😃 I figure it started when someone turned on too much hot water! 🙏 for you. This site isn't the same when you aren't posting here. Hang in there and hope you continue to post while you can! While I'm at it trashing professional sports...I haven't watched the NBA in years but this trade sure makes me think I'm not missing anything. Is this a trade made to get LeBrick another NBA title before he finally retires? That idiot has pretty much singlehandedly made the NBA unwatchable over the years. This is for KOWALSKI: Michael Jordan > Kobe Bryant Isiah Thomas > John Stockton 😃 We do think a lot alike...must be why I like you so much! 😃 PS: Hope you are feeling better! If this song and commercial didn't bring us world peace, then I doubt it'll ever happen: https://youtu.be/ib-Qiyklq-Q?si=sdAzmg7sa8vd3jXQ I used to host a Super Bowl party and watch the Super Bowl all the time. However, I stopped watching them during the Patriots years (Because those games were obviously controlled...I don't like to use the word "fixed," because it's not on a play-by-play basis, but they're definitely "controlled"...same goes for the NBA, MLB, college football, and college basketball). But the NFL doesn't even try to hide it anymore...this Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce pairing is straight out of the pro wrestling playbook. The questionable calls that somehow always manage to go Kansas City's way...I don't miss watching the NFL one bit anymore. 1. "Return to Sender" - Elvis Presley https://youtu.be/-Ml1_SLU6x4 2. I like the story about Dennis Hopper when he was filming the movie "Hoosiers" and he was getting ready to film the scene where his character (Shooter) drunkenly walks onto the court during one of the tournament games. Hopper supposedly asked for a 10- second notice before "action." When he got it, he started spinning around in circles really quickly and then filmed the scene. Where Art Thou?" "Rocky," "Psycho," " Back To The Future," "Bull Durham," et.al. They move my soul and I'll re-watch them every chance I get. I have admittedly weird tastes when it comes to movies... I'm pretty persnickety as to what I'll watch/won't watch. So hard to narrow it down to 5...I can't do it: 1) Buddy Holly 2) Jimi Hendrix 3) Duane Allman 4) Jim Croce/Murray Muehleisen 5) Elvis Presley 6) Karen Carpenter 7) John Denver 8) Michael Hedges 9) Philippé "Soul Walker" Wynne (lead singer of The Spinners) 10) Kurt Cobain
