Exactly, I agree and I assume the blond psycho kid you are referring to is Jack !
I think that was part of the moral and message of the story though... it was symbolic to show what would happen in society if there was no rules or authority ...the kids were used as a symbol...since there was no adults around they had nobody there to discipline them so they did whatever they wanted as they thought there would be no consequence for their actions. By the middle of the movie they most likely didn't think they were gonna be found and developed this lifestyle as they thought they could get away with slaughtering each other at that point since there was nobody there to punish them..
At the end of the movie when the kids are found by the Marines they just freeze as they are back in reality again and realize what they have done- they now have authority again, and they know will have to suffer the consequences.
This is generally how many adults would act as well if there were no laws or anyone around to punish them....pretty scary really.
I love this movie, it teaches us exactly why we need to have rules and and boundaries in life.
Exactly! Yes they would certainly be charged for murder...I think we know by the ending and the look on the kid's faces that they know they will be going to jail.
I don't think you were paying attention the movie...Jack's group and become savages... very violent and murderous! The only reason Piggy was considering being in Jack's group was because he was scared of them and thought it was the only way to be on their good side...but Ralph was trying to advise him not to stoop down to their level.
Even if they would have joined Jacks group the boys would still have been cruel him, just like they were before....and eventually they would have all turned on each other as well... as they can become plain psychopaths!
Are you kidding me?!!! sorry not true at all....have you not seen he way girls act in highschool...or even in Elementary school ? they can be even worse than guys sometimes when it comes to bullying! they get jealous and of other girls and as always worrying about being prettier or more popular....or feel they have to bully someone they think is " weaker" than them just to make themselves feel better. They are VERY competitive and can be very cruel to each other. I was bullied a lot when I was a kid and as a teenager by mainly other girls and saw many others get bullied as well...both verbally and physically.
Girls certainly don't have it easier...not even close.
Also, you do realize that men don't get periods, or have to go through labor pains right?
Women also get sexually harassed have be careful even going on dates and worrying about getting date raped,...in fact many men get away with rape and sexual assault every day.
Men can also sleep around and be considered "cool" while us woman get called sluts if we do it.
Shall I go on?.....
I have to disagree with that, I think Peyton knew how her husband was and was already a Psycho as well- this just escalated it more. She had no "right" to do what she did.
Ya I suppose... I mean yes I will admit I had already known from my Dad when I watched it for the first time that Norman had a split personality and that his mother didn't exist and all... But my Dad told me he when he watched the first time he knew the whole time...in fact he never saw it as a twist at all which is why he told me ...he just thought Norman having the split personality and becoming his mother was part of the plot!
I still think I would have known too... (as I said it seems suspicious that they actually never show Norman talking to his mother) but I guess I'll never know for sure if I would have known! ! lol
I suppose so in regards to Psycho...but I just found it obvious because they never actually showed Norman's Bates mother , just head him talking to her in the distance....
1. Sleepaway Camp (very jaw dropping twist ending that I didn't see coming!)
2. The Others
3. The Uninvited
4. House at the End of the Street.
5. The Visit
"Psycho" the twist was pretty obvious IMHO , but I do agree that "Psycho 2" was a good twist that I didn't see coming!
I also agree about "Friday the 13th" it was a pretty good twist but it was revealed before the ending.
Spoilers.....
What exactly was the "twist ending" ? It ended with the boys being found on the Island ...I wouldn't really call that a twist?
Yes I know I agreed with you , I was disagreeing to the original post.
That would be impossible for Jessica to to try every single code on the key pad! and even if she tried to do that there was a big risk of her being caught ...Simon would surely catch her ... even if she did it when he was out remember he had cameras ? She would have easily been caught.
As far why she didn't try to attack Simon, tie him up, drug him or etc...she actually DID hit him on the head and tie him up and him earlier in the movie, trying to force him to give her the code to the door... but Robin (The other girl who was being held prisoner in the room) had been brainwashed by Simon and attacked her...
Robin also tells Jessica later that night that there was another girl named Megan that Simon and kidnaped in the past who kept trying to escape, and Robin had been forced to kill her as a "punishment" for not trying hard enough to stop her.
This probably scared Jessica a lot.
Also, remember Simon had mentioned earlier in the movie that if she killed him she would end up dying down there with him.. if Simon was dead there would be no more food for one thing...so her and Robin would have eventually starved to death since they still would have been stuck in the room.
In regards to stealing Simon's cell phone, they actually never showed him with a cell phone that I can remember? I mean I assume he probably had one somewhere... but my guess is he didn't have it down in the basement... or even if he did it I'm sure it would have been well hidden or the screen would have been locked.
I thought the same thing! Where were Jessica's family ? Simon had only written a fake email to her fiancée Evan pretending that she had left him for another guy...but what about her parents? I mean even if Jessica had starting seeing someone else why would she not have still been in touch with her parents? She was gone for months! surely her parents would have contacted Evan to find out why they hadn't been able to reach their daughter or heard from her? Are we really supposed to believe that Jessica had no other family or friends at all trying to contact her all that time?!! Or what about her clients? Surely somebody would have reported her missing to the police? Jessica had also left her phone behind, wouldn't that also seam strange ? Evan mentioned how she never goes anywhere without her phone...so even if he believed that she had left him why would she not still take her phone with her?
Evan's friend Tyler was a cop and was concerned about Jessica's disappearance but didn't he also find it strange that nobody else reported her missing?
That was a major plot hole and very bad writing.
So it's basically in 2 parts... part 1 is a prequel to The wizard of OZ story and part 2 (which will be coming out next year) is more or less a remake of The wizard of OZ ...but told from the witches perspective. it's basically her "side of the story."
Well as I said do some research and you will see. I was also confused so I did some research and many others were confused too but yes it was confirmed this version does not follow the 1939 movie.
I will agree it is a bit strange they decided to do it this way , but yes do some research and watch the movie and you will see what I mean. Also, The 1995 "Wicked" book also does NOT follow the 1939 movie , it is a prequel to L. Frank Baum The Wonderful Wizard of Oz book....so I guess the movie decided to follow the original book as well instead of the play.
The movie version is is more of an adaption of the book not the play. I saw some clips of the Broadway play it is very different. They use references from the book in the new movie as well as the characters, that's why they look nothing like the ones in the movie!
I just told you in my last post I'm not talking about the PLAY I'm talking about the 2024 WICKED MOVIE. You admitted you haven't seen the new WICKED movie or read the book....and no my online source is not wrong, do some research you will see what I mean... and please I would suggest to watch the Wicked movie and you will see that the movie version has nothing to do the 1939 Wizard of Oz movie.
I don't mean be rude but it seams you are not reading my full posts... so I will repeat it AGAIN the BROADWAY PLAY of WICKED that you saw may have been a prequel of The Wizard of Oz movie yes, BUT the new 2024 WICKED MOVIE is NOT...it is a PREQUEL to the ORGINAL BOOK and it is also based on the 1995 novel WICKED. It does not follow the movie which is why the characters look nothing like the original Wizard of Oz movie.
The play is different than the movie.
Claire my not have been the most attentive mother but to say Peyton was a better mother is crazy! The only reason she was "caring" for the kids was to get revenge on Claire. She wanted to take over her life , I'm pretty sure that if she had ended up killing Claire and took over as the role as of the kid's mother, she would have been really abusive to the kids as well eventually. You could tell she was always a psycho....this situation just brought it out more.
Payton was probably already a psycho just like her husband was... that's probably why they were married ! at least that's what I always assumed!
I mean its also possible she was just in denial that her husband sexually assaulted Claire and those other women , and thought they made it up I suppose and she wanted revenge.
But my guess she was always a nutcase and this situation just brought it out more and pushed her over the edge!
oh I see...well I haven't seen the play so I'm not sure about that, but I can tell you the movie version of Wicked has nothing to do with the 1939 movie. They use the silver shoes from the book...not the ruby slippers from the movie , and Glinda is like 19 or 20 years old .... the one from the The wizard of Oz movie is was 54.. and they look NOTHING ALIKE!
This version does not follow the movie version, but I can understand why you thought that, I also was confused as many others were, as they did not make that clear when they marketing the movie!
So I did some research though online after I saw it and it was confirmed it was a prequel to the book not the movie and Elpheba is not the 1939 movie Wicked witch.
