same here. I think vegas is mad underrated. def not a cash grab. You'd have a point....if it weren't for the fact that his not killing the cops is directly connected with the primary, overarching theme that guides the entire movie. This may seem like a copout, but the reality is, T1 was a standalone, enclosed time loop. Hell, according to T1, the war already ended, which you noted in another comment. Sending the T800 was a last a ditch effort. Anything after T1 continued to reinvent and reinterpret the time war in its own way. I can see why you'd simply conclude that the T1000 was sent at the same time, but honestly, if we use T1 as reference, T2 never should have happened. And within T2 itself, it's not explained at all, so I think it's up to the viewer. In that sense, I think it makes most sense that it happened later. The T1000 was not sent at the same time as the the time portal that the T800 and Kyle went through. A remnant of skynet must have survived despite the destruction of the defense grid, and they built another time port some time later...with the newly developed 1000 prototype. I enjoy it. It's not great, and I can't watch it over and over. But honestly, there's not much else like it lol, and it does what it's trying to do decently enough. Bale and McC play it straight too. Random reaction vids on youtube should never an authority you rely on to inform yourselves. As far as mainstream horror films go, the Conjuring series use minimal jump scares. You should maybe watch a wider breadth of horror films instead of relying on other people's opinions. Maybe it's easier for you to lump Conjuring in with The Nun or Winchester...but that's just simplicity borne from ignorance. Also, we know Ed and Lorraine are not gonna die. We knew Indy was never gonna die, but ppl generally agree that the Indiana Jones films are exciting. All because you don't like the formula, doesn't mean there's something inherently bad about the formula. I haven't been scared by a movie since I saw The Ring when I was a kid. Oh, there was Hereditary, I guess. But yeah, I still love horror movies though, and I watch them to be entertaining. What exactly are you looking for? Do other horror movies actually scare you? You actually expect them to? And I guess if you do, that's fine, but you can't really use that a way to measure quality as different ppl get scared by different things so fear factor is subjective. It stars Scarlett Johansen, Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz, and David Habour, so I'm excited. Also, I'm not defending them not doing this movie earlier (instead of the pathetic Captain Marvel film), but the reality is, this isn't solely a cash grab as much as it's a way to set off Florence as the next Black Widow. All that's needed is for parents to teach their children to be kind? lol Clearly it wasn't enough for you and OP since y'all are pretty unfriendly. I literally thought he said "you're feeding the breast of gender confusion", and I couldn't stop laughing for a few moments XD It's not true, cause there's tons of excellent horror films without ppl doing dumb things. You don't need dumb things to help the plot alone. That's a lazy, narrative crutch. Yep...no one gives a shit about that reality though. He didn't write the original story for the first movie. And he only co-wrote on the script. Though he was the sole writer for Part II, he wouldn't be the only person who would know what to do since he's obviously using someone else's characters and story in the first place. I can't believe he agreed to this role lol. I didn't even anticipate that that would even happen. Hell it didn't even make sense. He was absurdly calm and collected when the monster first appeared. And then he spazzes out like that from the whole "wasn't paying attention to the open space behind me" trope. I have a feeling that was probably what Krasinsky had in mind when writing the story, and everything else was filled in between XD This sort of attitude is why there's a disproportionate amount of ppl doing dumb things in horror movies. This idea is nonsense. It's fantastic they were able to do all this, so many years later. Felt really natural, like it was planned all this time to revisit it this way, as though shyamalan never fell from grace and that Disney didn't originally disparage his superhero ideas lol This is the only King novel or short story that I dislike. Keep in mind I love films and books with shifting perspectives and chronologically, non-linear narratives. I think the novel of IT is sloppily written. Bucky is the one white man they trust. Bucky will be the new Black Panther now. Sequel-bait probably, like the robot zombies lol. Hey Arnold!. I've adopted phrases and even mannerisms from the show, to the point where sometimes I've forgotten. And most conversations with me, if they go long enough, eventually I'll reference something from HA! to make a point. Also, I constantly say "looks clear" in an uncertain tone a la Pitch Black.
