I'm almost done with season 1.
I understand where you're coming from, but I think you should give this show another chance. Because although you're right about that character in particular, you are not right in regards to the show in general.
You think Ken's main goal was to get Barbie just to have sex with him? (as if that was a possibility, considering they're dolls)
You sure about that?
Didn't the movie give off a more deeper understanding of their relationship?
The adjectives were "rude" and "snippy". Stupid wasn't in the original post.
The young girl from the sports team, the one who finds the first bullet. She was fine.
There really are grown men crying over this movie? Where can I see them in tears?
Moderate hit. In terms of quality only, it might end up as one of the finest blockbusters this summer.
Unrelated, but in 2014-2015 there was a TV show about the Manhattan Project: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3231564
It ran for 2 seasons and then it was cancelled, but it was pretty good.
If they release one episode a week, that's six weeks total, which translates to a two months D+ subscription.
If they release all episodes at once, that translates to just a one month D+ subscription.
So, the answer is money.
Most definitively, the most exciting release of the summer for me.
The dude is married [to a woman] and has two kids.
I honestly have no idea, I too recognize in him all you listed. Maybe he needs a better agent?
Scott Adkins in a fat suit! He's awesome! Should be a bigger movie star!
You should have watched it first. The title of the documentary has a question mark at the end. He's ASKING others to define it for him.
I kinda see what you're saying about having a guy on the poster when not put into context, though.
Have you seen the show? She isn't, though. The show depicts that the first was an abnormal combination between witcher and monster (Fjall).
What she is - and this is also a change from the books - is the mother of the first person ever to have Elder Blood. Replacing Lara Dorren.
I saw the movie yesterday. Don't worry about bullying. He has issues with his family, namely his father, but it's just that stereotipical "don't go and do what you love, you have to have a real job, like mine".
The film itself is a parody, just like his songs. So don't take it very seriously.
I don't believe so, no. This is the "current year" Oscars, after all.
Although, will the ceremony have that "fan favorite" category, the one "Army of the Dead" won? If so, maybe through that.
Apart from aesthetics, which is subjective, and the process of migration that seems to amount to nothing, the main reason people dislike the Harfoots, is this:
They sing songs about "no one gets left behind". They have moments where they celebrate and remember those lost during the migration.
But in practice they refuse to help those in need. The Harfoots leave anyone who falls behind. A Harfoot elder even suggested sabotaging the last cart and be done with it.
This seems hypocritical, does it not? Proudly saying "we don't do X" and then doing X.
At least Nori and family seem to go against this norm, when trying to help the tall man. So they aren't all bad. Just the vast, vast majority.
Pay close attention to that scene, particularly to the threats she exclaims. And also for hints sprinkled throughout the episodes that serve as further evidence.
For someone who, on paper, is supposed to be the hero the audience should root for, she is especially genocidal, evil and narcissistic. An ocean apart from Tolkien's characterization.
I think so, because after seeing the first three episodes, they feel like a complete introduction to the show. Disney made the decision to split a 100 minute "streaming movie" into three episodes, and maybe they shouldn't have. At least they released the three episodes at once.
Anyway, I say stick with it.
There's still humor in there, IMO thankfully used sparingly. Andor's droid has two or three funny lines.
I like it when Star Wars is serious. Not everything needs comedy jammed between somber moments (cough Marvel cough).
As for being bleak and miserable, I think it fits the places the show has visited so far. Maybe it will lighten up a bit when we got to Coruscant, maybe not, considering the Empire is in charge.
I also sensed a bit of a "Blade Runner" vibe to it, which I can't say I dislike.
