More "woke" bullcrap...

My wife and I thought this looked interesting.

But, we had barely made it through the first episode when Dianne Wiest's character went into a "woke" historical narrative about Columbus' "genocide" and other such bullcrap.

We turned it off and it will stay off.

VERY CLEVER OF YOU TO NAME YOUR CAT, "MY WIFE".

reply

First of all, why are you yelling?

Second, you probably think your post was "clever," but in truth, you are just another internet troll.

Have a nice day.

reply

LMAO...DON'T GET ME WRONG.NOTHING YOU SAID WAS FUNNY...IT'S THE WAY YOU CONSTRUCTED THAT ENTIRE POST OUT OF AWKWARD CLICHE...HILARIOUS...BUT SERIOUSLY...WHAT KIND OF CAT IS "MY WIFE"?...A CALICO?

reply

What a degenerate asshole!

reply

Satan, we all know you're a cunt. Kowalski is an experimental with his full caps responses to astroturf every post like a retard. You, are vindictive.

reply

Just because one minor, very minor character on the show has different views to yours, you turn off the whole show, talk about throwing the baby out with the bathwater. If this is a woke show than I pity the world you live in.

reply

woke off, wokester

reply

I'm petrified at that retort, I must run and hide now. Also thanks for actually counter arguing it was brilliant.

reply

welcome to the internet

The's show's description says WOKE!

The McLusky family are power brokers tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality in Kingstown, Michigan--where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry.

reply

Her character's monologs may take up little time but they describe the theme of the show. That's why they are in there, in all their glory. I expect everything to be woke these days, but when a show is so clearly trying to indoctrinate me into a particular viewpoint, it's a bit ridiculous.

Also, why so many naked women? For a show that's trying to be "woke" it's a pretty misogynist tactic when you are showing frontal nudity of so many women (and that one shot right up underneath her legs for the one character). I didn't really appreciate that.

reply

Ah! So it's a must-see! Thanks.

reply

Politics aside, she's just an incredibly annoying character. She's always whining about something and has a miserable disposition. Then to cap it off despite working with criminals she refuses to believe an inmate could have possibly killed a guard without it being self-defense.

reply

Totally agree

reply

In that remark she is more likely a mockery of the woke culture, that cannot see the truth when looking at the world through the lenses of ideology.

Although I think he realized the inmate was not raped.

reply

It's like the grandma on "The Equalizer" who lives in that expensive brownstone with Queen Latifah and tells Latifah's daughter about how "evil" America and white people are.

reply

I despise the woke crap as well. However, you are being a dimwit here.

She is woke Libtard sure but woke Libtards exist. It would not be out of the ordinary to see a character like this teaching in a prison.

And the show is not wrapped around this silly cow's teachings.

On top of that, when she was talking to the prisoners about the slave trade, she explained how it was the tribes of Africa catching and selling these slaves to the slave traders. Not white men running around Africa with nets and such BS.

This is something that most Libtards refuse to acknowledge, let alone teach.

Stop being silly and give it a go. it is really good.

reply

Yes they exist, but the whole reason why many people watch TV and film is escapism. They don't want precise reality. They want an entertaining take on it, that takes them away from the depressing monotony of real life and real politics. The best shows tend to straddle the gap somewhat, but the show description alone is enough to put me off this one. Fighting systemic racism. Ugh.

reply

Watch and leave your ideology out as well.

Yes, there is racism in this world.

This show is not as woke as you think it is.

reply

And you want to be my Latex salesmen...

reply

Ignore that crap and you get an amazing show.

reply

I felt the same. I have trouble following it also.

reply

She was insufferable in season 1 but they toned her down a lot in season 2. There's none of that preaching crap. Must have got the memo from the fans that we're not tuning in for that rubbish and listened.

reply

I'm almost done with season 1.
I understand where you're coming from, but I think you should give this show another chance. Because although you're right about that character in particular, you are not right in regards to the show in general.
