I'm with you there. I like Jimmy, but come on, it's like they throw themselves so quickly that he doesn't even have to "work" to get them. And the writer did this twice already. It's easily the most forced sub-plot on the show. I haven't read the book, but some that did have said the actor fits the description of this character quite well. No if you want just the bare minimum. And yes if you come out of this movie with a newly found interest in this universe. If you just see the movie for what's on screen, you'll be fine. But there's lore that you're gonna miss, like what happened previously in this universe, the lack of digital technology, the origins of houses, the guild and that religious female order. The movie also doesn't really explain the concept of the navigators and how they use spice for space travel. This is something the old 1984 movie does better, check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lv0nlpFVpyI The movie (as in, the actual movie) has "Part I" in there below the big "Dune" letters. I don't know why marketing (posters, other materials) isn't referring it as well. I didn't find it woke at all. Yes, the cast is diverse, but the story doesn't say anything about race or ethnicity or biological sex or gender. At least in the movie theater the screen is giant. We can't have that at home. I do too. I watch "The Titan Games" for the physical competitions, not for soap opera sob stories.
