I think people don’t care because at least killing him made some sense. Whereas genisy or however it was spelt turned him into a terminator and made him the villain which is a way worse fate than him being killed early on. I think if the last movie hadn’t so badly crapped the bed or didn’t exist. Then yeah the choice to kill him would recieved way way way more backlash. Agreed. Like you can have slow burn movies where nothing exciting happens that are still captivating and draw you in. This movie though didn’t give us any of that. There was no good conversations between the two mains even though they spent all that time in the car together. There wasn’t a lot of detective work happening except for specific moments that were over quickly. It had a lot of potential but like a lot of Netflix movies they drop the ball. Isn’t that why people are watching it though? Because they have read the original or know enough about it to know the Hush storyline was a pretty amazing one. Like the already saw what happens when they adapt a well known storyline (killing joke) and then decide to add more to it. That didn’t work out to well. They honestly didn’t need to make this the Hush movie. It could have just been its own story without using the Hush name to bring people in. As it’s own story it’s quite good and I enjoyed it. As a Hush story I kinda would have preferred if it was a bit more of a faithful adaption. Yeah it is really weird he doesn’t have a much larger role in the DC universe both in the movies and comics. He’s a fan favourite and I know any time he popped up in any of the movies or tv episodes I loved it. Honestly if done really right I feel he could pass Batman in popularity. Maybe one day we will get a full blown solo Nightwing movie that will do the character justice. When Jeremy first arrives he kicks the launcher device the kid set up to launch the brick. Two actual plot holes are, how did the girl put duck tape on her neck when she was still pretty well tied up. And two, it appears near the end that Like popped his sleeping tablet. Yet either they don’t work on him anymore or the people forgot they showed like take a tablet. Add in he had been drinking as well and he should have probs been pretty fucked by the time the cops and ambos arrived. But yeah the launcher is a simple one. They guy outside sets it up and it’s just delayed long enough that he has time to make it around the front and then it goes off. Well that’s a load of crap. There would be no gun powder residue on jeremy. Yet there would be on Luke and on his clothes. Just so so so many inconsistencies with the crime scene that would suddenly all fit with it being Luke. No fingerprints on the pant can for Jeremy. No fingerprints on the shell casings for the shotgun for Jeremy. Even the way he hung himself would be suspect. Not to mention why would jeremy kill everyone all so differently and then why would he leave one kid alive and why wouldn’t he have checked the room. Also Luke has to get the drugs from somewhere so that would be potentially traceable. Also the phone records would show more than likely it was garret calling them again more evidence to the girls story. Hell pretty sure Lukes fingerprints are going to be on the notepad he gave Jeremy as well. Also as we saw Luke can be manipulated a bit and is still a child. So he will mess up his story or get caught out. But yeah there is plenty of evidence to get this to court. It’s not a small plot hole it’s just a plot hole. Easily solved if they showed a scene of garret cutting a couple of the cords near her hand or arm. I have a feeling they intended to end the movie with her being killed as well, but potentially a re-write happened so they could milk a sequel later on for it. It was a good twist. If you hadn’t seen the trailer. The trailer gave to much away and showed a lot of stuff that didn’t make sense for it to be like an adult horror home alone. Was semi decent twist but I got to admit, right from the beginning the kid was giving me the creeps, so solid performance by the actor there. Everything you say continually is wrong and you are the obvious high schooler or younger. Yup :) Found the Netflix shill. To add some more. 1. How did they even know about Merriman? They showed no history that would explain why he was even on their radar. 2. Why didn’t they arrest Merriman once they got an informant? He clearly gave them a tonne of information to work with. And there is no way they would have let them actually get inside that bank that allowed them to escape. They would have more than enough to stop them and arrest them before they entered the bank. 3. Hell they push how they will kill them anyway. So why were they even pretending to actually care about catching them. Not just cornering them and killing them. 4. Why on earth did Merriman corner the cop in the house. Just to get his number? Completely pointless scene. Made no sense and just means you’ve outed yourself completely to the cop. 5. A guy comes to you with a bank plan, he gets revealed as knowing the cop you know is major crimes, and you just what.... keep him around? Nothing screams set up to you. They have already killed cops. 6. The first scene makes no sense. It’s an empty armoured car. Why on earth would any of the security guys try and stop or do anything. We are led to believe is was a mistake but even the guy in the car wouldn’t get out. Like it’s fucking empty there is no money who gives a shit. 7. All this for $30million? Split many ways it doesn’t seem worth the risk and how hard it would be to pull off. Makes more sense to just keep hitting low profile targets and build up the money from there. 8. Why weren’t the cops working with literally anyone else. I get we are meant to think there cowboys but holy shit they aren’t. They are just horrible at their job. 9. Not a plot hole. But what the fuck was the point with all the bullshit drama that happened with the cops wife. Literally cut that out and save 20 minutes of movie time. They couldn’t possibly know that. As we saw with the acid Barrel they could easily get rid of a body and lay low. Honestly this movie made no sense. No it’s not because he got to PICK aka he could PICK A TEAM THAT IS ALREADY ON HIS SIDE. There is no need to pick anyone who isn’t already a part of the plan. Why? We see nothing in the movie that suggests that at all. It honestly wasn’t exactly the worlds most well hidden object. At some point it would have been built and out there. You’re saying that there are no records no nothing that these two people could have done to trace it. I mean they are able to be in positions close enough to the guy that they could essentially kill him at any moment so obviously his background checks may be lacking. By not done well you mean makes no sense to his qualifications and as such makes his character seem Shallow, sure. You are extremely naive if you think that’s not how being rich can work when you are talking in the billions and billions of dollars range. Not for what he was going through anyway. ...... wow. Ok I’m done you literally just proved why everything you had said is dumb and you are likely a high schooler or younger who doesn’t have a clue. Honest to god actual go do some studies mate because your knowledge has very clearly only come from movies. Jesus. That’s it though the story they were telling even in terms of realism is way more interesting than what the movie makes it. The movie is essentially two guys sitting in a car not really doing anything until something just happens and your sitting there going how did we even get to this point, because the scenes haven’t flowed well enough to make you understand it. It doesn’t even showcase what you are saying at all either. We get the bare minimum showing stuff about how life is hard. Also aging? The guy the story is based around was a living legend and a badass. He was older yes but the stories around him showcase how age wouldn’t have slowed him down. Which is not what we get in the movie. If by take its time you mean never ever pays off or tell an interesting story and just runs at a continually slow pace that offers nothing of interest to the viewer. Then sure it took its time. I have seen longer movies and I can tell you that movies can have no action and still be amazing. Hell I watched the post which isn’t not an action movie and very much just people talking and chasing down leads. Yet that there was more exciting and intriguing than the highwaymen. This movie is not for those people. This movie isn’t for anyone. It’s a long slow mess of a movie that showcases no depth to a story that deserves it. There is no defence to this movie. It’s just a bad boring movie. This is the same issue as the quiet place had. These things are attracted to sound as such going to a place that is very quiet isn’t a good idea. At least the quiet place tried to show why their creatures won. Because they are damn in indestructible apparently. These bird things are easily killed. They would have killed a lot of people sure but they would have very very easily been quickly wiped out by simple strategies. Also how the hell does deafness keep equaling the best quality in a world needing to be quiet. It is the WORST quality as you have no idea how much noise you are making. It’s stupid. Deaf people would be some of the first dying as they wouldn’t be able to tell when they have made noise. Was a pretty lackluster movie. Also just wasn’t cohesive at all. The jumping back and forth between time lines was not done that well. The ending twist was lackluster as well and considering the movie seemed to be pushing a conspiracy of this guy being allowed to get away with it and being protected, it felt like a lot of plot set up was gone. I understand it’s a remake which I didn’t know going in. But overall as a film by itself. It’s really not that good. They had two people on the inside and one got to make the recommendation as he put the rock forth for the role. He could have put anyone forth. Also you still have two people on the inside, both with high level access. Seems getting time to find the safe and maybe crack a password for it could have been possible. Yet we never get that. It is not hard at all to show him rather than a hostage background, a fire department background. His history does not fit with the role we see him doing later. I agree security consultant work is fine, but they gave him a super super specific role, but then showed his history and past being a hostage and combat specilist not anything to do with fire security. It would have more sense and flowed better to have a story where he is the security consultant for security. Governments are massievly different to a private enterprise. A multi billion dollar private individual definetely has the money needed to over power the criminal aspect. He would have enough power that if they did interfere he just goes and hire the best private security around and makes sure his employees are protected. Or someone that powerful definetely has powerful friends and just makes a phonecall being like "Hey bob these guys are giving me a hard time, can you maybe make sure the police force does their job and tells these guys to back off before I really make their lives hell". Also the government is not the richest thing around, they do not have unlimited funds and the money has to go into specific areas. That is the reason crime families and gangs have so much power because they have more money than most government officials and more money than the police being used to try and capture them. Very very very wrong thinking by you there to make any comparison to government and the government being "rich". Even knowing how it ends, the journey getting there can still be well done. Also it was a story not so much about Bonnie and Clyde but the men chasing them. Which is a fascinating story and the guy Costner played was a real person and a freaking badass. It very easily could have been a story showing us a lot more of the investigation, the road bumps, the real things these people went through to reach that end goal. But it is all just lightly glossed over. Well... that is pretty much it actually. They get out and do stuff a few times, but most of the movie is them in a car, just not really doing much of anything. Them being in a car is super notciable too becuase it's a small cramped car. I felt uncomfortable just watching them sitting in there so cramped up. This is though I have seen movies with similar issues and those movies have been good. There needs to be more meat in this movie, more conversation, more something.
