Why Adapt a book. If your not going to follow anything that happened in it.

Isn’t that why people are watching it though? Because they have read the original or know enough about it to know the Hush storyline was a pretty amazing one.

Like the already saw what happens when they adapt a well known storyline (killing joke) and then decide to add more to it. That didn’t work out to well.

They honestly didn’t need to make this the Hush movie. It could have just been its own story without using the Hush name to bring people in. As it’s own story it’s quite good and I enjoyed it. As a Hush story I kinda would have preferred if it was a bit more of a faithful adaption.

I'd say largely as the comics, except some vital points:

The Hush guy is Thomas Elliot (the brain surgeon). He faked his death. I suppose this is why the Riddler in this movie dug him up; to make it seem the story was told just as in the comics. Other than that, it follows the storyline broadly (with a few character swaps, like Croc instead of Bane).

Thomas Elliot wanted payback as Batman’s dad once inadvertently blocked an attempt to have his parents die, and collect inheritance ...

Anyway, here is the kicker: In the epilogue to the story, Batman realizes that the true mastermind was in fact the Riddler... who had convinced Thomas Elliot to work with him... and the part with the Riddler and the Lazarus Pit was also in the comic story.

So, really not THAT much different.
