Perhaps he still has the surgeons mentality. I imagine doing this, something that has to be handled delicately and with precision and something that he really shouldn't be attempting was likely too much to resist.
Captain Marvel (2019 Disney Plus) 6/10. This film relies heavily on Larson's portrayal of the character and frankly she is not very good. I have seen her in other things and I have had no problem with her in the past. However here she is just miscast, most of the quips and attempts at humor fall flat. She simply lacks the charisma of most of her peers in the MCU. On top of that, the film felt long, I didn't care for the characterizations of the skrulls, and Captain Marvel is a bit overpowered for the villains she was facing, so by the end of the film there isn't much at stake because their is no serious threat to her. I did enjoy Jackson and the cat though.
I did watch it, I kind of see them being somewhat similar in quality. Really the characters should have just had a show together like in the comics rather than two less than stellar individual series.
The few times I have seen it mentioned on something like imdb you often find an an unusual amount of 10 star scores as well.
The amount of people that will simply put a bad score for the sake of review bombing are only a small fraction of the total votes.
I don't pay much attention to 1,2,9 or 10 star reviews, if I consider user reviews its usually the ones in the middle that are a closer reflection of what the movie/show may be.
Rampant voter suppression, on the right its the rampant voter fraud complaint..both are excuses
the reality is the massive blue wave did not occur, its not a surprise that it went blue the surprise was how little blue it was. It is what it is, either the democrats will waste the next two years with petty stuff all but guaranteeing Trump reelection or they will at least make a legit attempt to offer alternatives all Americans can consider.
but this is the end of the politics talk for me..distasteful subj neither side are perfect yet they pretend they are the moral superiority.
Not surprising they held the Senate so much as it was they have an opportunity to gain more than the possible one seat. Remember..blue wave, maybe not a Senate takeover but at least not more than a loss. A massive blue wave would be worthless if it did not have at least a shot of taking the Senate. It is what it is. Democrats took the House as expected but not behind the "massive" blue wave that some thought would happen with Trump in office. If I were Trump and/or a republican I would be very pleased with the results of this election because it shows that Democrats do not have quite the support they thought they would have and they are signalling waste of time investigations, foolish attempt at impeachment and funniest of all Pelosi as speaker again if anything this scenario probably increases his reelection chances.
come on doggie there was no massive blue wave even CNN admitted that. He was going to lose the house everyone knew that what was unexpected was how little losses he took and not only that they are making gains in the Senate. A massive blue wave would have had far less contested races and something closer to the losses Obama took in his first mid term and maybe even taking the senate. You have to deal with reality here, the democrats did not get the support one would have thought considering the person that is President right now.
Not to much but I was curious to see if this blue wave would come...and it did not..in fact it was incredibly poor performance on the democrats part...it was never a question the dems would take the house, but what is amazing is how poorly they did with a person like Trump in office. I wonder if this will effect how the run the house, because they did not get the support for whatever agenda they have with these results.
The show has always been somewhat progressive, but the story generally came first before. I have not sat down for this season but the last couple were not very good and somewhat ham fisted with some of its themes. I still remember when the Doctor punched the racist guy. Here is a man who has sat and had pleasant conversations with mass murders and he is going to punch someone because he is an ignorant racist? It was so completely out of character, so stupid.
They kind of already retconned it for H20 even though in my opinion H4 was a better film than that one. It was still an upgrade over the mess that became H5 and H6. If H20 didn't exist and this current film didn't ignore H2 I would probably be more interested in it than I am. I will still watch it, but ignoring theatrical sequels has always been a negative for me, its very fan fiction.
Its a different style, at the time it was released that was shocking. Today with people used to far more extreme content and more realistic looking death and gore along with the tide of slashers films released since Halloween its not quite as impactful. I watch films with the understanding of when the came out so even if they are a bit dated to me now I still get much of the same enjoyment I did when I first saw it.
Its been talked about in the past and certainly if it occurred in the past it might have been better. Today it feels more like following a lazy trend to make a few people happy that care little if it was a good decision creatively or not. I will watch it at some point, but Capaldi's time as the Doctor was not great and the stories were mostly not very good towards the end so I have not been able to really get interested in this new season.
nope, but it would be hard for me to even find 8 hours straight to make the attempt.
It didn't originate on PBS but I am sure they showed it. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (1979) and its follow up Smiley's People (1982) were mini series starring Alec Guinness as the character George Smiley. They are both sort of sequels to the film The Spy Who Came in from the Cold (1965) starring Richard Burton, Rupert Davies played George Smiley in this one.
I have not seen the film or Smiley's People, but I quite liked Tinker.
Actually given the ending of part 4, the character could replace Michael Myers and go on a killing rampage as she hunts down her Mother who faked her death....
We will see with the new one,, but I will be surprised if it is better than 2 4 or H20
Bruce Lee gained his stardom from doing films in Asia as a martial artist/actor, Jet Li and Jackie Chan have both featured prominently in American cinema for years since his death and are easily comparable to Bruce Lee.
You should probably go to your original post and put down the standards you have for this as it seems to adjust as people post responses.
Crazy Rich Asians didn't have Asian leads?
I am assuming you mean theatrical releases created solely by a US company because we have had many Asians leads since Bruce Lee.
Lol no wonder it sounded so good.
The films trailer for me has worked against it. I think Sarah Connor version of Laurie is a bit silly, as is the attempt to make it seem like he was human when if you actually watched the first film its fairly clear he was more than the average human...he should be dead if he were human. At this point I am expecting a film closer to H8 in over all quality than anything near H2,H4 or H20. But who knows it may surprise, I will watch it.
Trailers in general show way to much of films.
I lived in South Fl as well, I encountered a few cubans that had similar accents. Perhaps not as exaggerated but similar.
