Speculation is that comic Rick will die in #200 which is about 2 years away.
He's not going to be the lead for the simple fact that even the characters who don't want him dead are never gonna fully trust him, and neither will the audience. What Carl's dream didn't have was someone with a rifle on Negan whenever he is outside, but that's likely what the situation would be when the war is over, if he is not killed. Characters like Maggie, Rosita, Dwight will always want him dead, and that will be a major point of conflict if Rick decides to keep him alive. The comics tried to make him a sympathetic character as well, everything they showed of Negan after the war was meant to make the reader believe he is genuinely trying to earn their trust. Whenever another character questions his motives, he is able to make a decent argument for himself, but in the back of everyone's mind is always the things he has done in the past. Obviously this is going somewhere, but not anywhere close to Negan being the lead character.
That's part of the reason for bringing in the other camps, to expand their world. They're gonna stay put for a while, but Alexandria just got burned down so they have an opportunity to rebuild it into something new.
I don't think so, because it's always the same Negan. The only thing that might change is whether or not he has the power to do that stuff.
It was supposed to split the episodes so each was from a different character POV, but covered roughly the same period of time. They've sorta done stuff like this before, but never really in a consistent way.
they still film mostly in GA where there is rarely snow, even in the winter. If they really wanted to, they could do winter but it would rely on a lot of green screen and if you saw the scenes where Rick first went to the landfill, they're not very good at that.
There was a storm with possible tornado around the time they met Aaron. That's the one where they were trapped in the barn and had to keep people on the door all night.
It looks like they set up for this a while ago with Morgan building the cell back in season 6.
I like the show, but I prefer to watch it on delay. I know the commercials are the reason they are able to make the show, but sometimes they go to break in the worst possible places. And they tend to go for the stronger premiere than finale (AKA cliffhangers). This will be a completely different and better show when the whole run can be watched front to back. There are whole seasons that cover only a couple weeks in the story. Same with the comics, except people have to wait a month for the next one of those. I like that the show stays faithful to the comics, but also adds in enough original material to keep it interesting.
Fear had a really good season when it looked like that show wasn't going to make it. The new season should be interesting, especially with the new cast additions.
just be glad they have Morgan stabbing with a sharpened stick now instead of a rounded one.
The ending being what Carl envisioned would be a good stopping point. If they don't do the Whisperers, it could end after season 9. Otherwise season 10 and they do the Whisperers before the time jump to old man Rick.
Rick came up with the idea on his own in the comics, it came out of the justification Negan gave for running things the way he did. Rick wanted to prove to Negan his way was wrong and Rick was right, but to be able to do that, he had to keep him alive. It sorta just happened because right up to the point where Rick was in position to kill him, he was dead set on killing him.
The thing with Daryl was because Daryl almost got them all killed with his rogue plan and Carl saved them with the evacuation.
That's what I thought about. Because Beric said it to Jon Snow, all he has to do is kill the Night King, but Jon said to him, "no,you don't understand..."
It could turn out to be true, but also true that the Night King can't be killed the same way as the other White Walkers. In that episode "The Door" they tried to protect the cave with a wall of fire but he walked up to it and it went out.
There are others in the cast at the end of their contracts. It's rare for anyone to stay on a TV show for 8+ years.
The showrunners are at a point where they have to decide if they wrap the show in the next 1-2 seasons with the people they have or keep it going with mainly newer cast members.
That's sorta what it looks like they are going to do. The group is done with moving around, after they get Negan out of power they will rebuild and have 4-6 communities who live in peace and as a whole, are self-sufficient. To find anything in ruins, they will have to do it through small scouting groups who fan out to explore, mostly looking for new groups of survivors to network with. Before the Whisperers come along, the main conflicts are internal- people who are not happy with Rick or Maggie's leadership and try to replace them. Also some internal drama at the Kingdom and the Sanctuary. I hope they don't spend too much time on it with the show and instead, maybe focus more on the rebuilding in the years that were skipped in the comics. I don't see the show keeping too many of the cast members around past season 10, so they either overhaul the show or end it.
I don't know, the Tyreese episode was pretty drawn out too. But for this one, it was especially annoying because they went to commercial break after nearly every scene. I'm watching it on a delay from now on.
It was smart of them to release Rogue One and Solo in the off years between the main films. I read somewhere that HBO is going to push season 7 for the Emmys this year since they missed the cutoff last year. It would be really cool if they released some kind of new material this year, beyond what they do for the blu-ray releases.
The show seems to be ending where the major story arcs converge, so it would be a logical stopping point. I doubt the Night King is going to kill everyone, so that situation will be somewhat resolved. It has been strongly hinted over the last 2 seasons that the Iron Throne (or the system it's a part of) won't make it to the end. So the end of the show would be at the beginning of a new era in that world. There is a lot of history the show never got into, a spinoff is almost certain to happen.
Gus had a real problem with Fiona not being all in with their relationship. He mentioned it to her a few times, but he was too casual about it and never really told her he needed her to choose if she wanted to stay married or go their separate ways. She learned about it later from his bandmate, he told her Gus would never break it off and she needed to be the one to do it. Since she never did, it probably kept eating away at him until he hated her.
Wait till the end of the year when they start hyping for season 8.
