It does sound like a comically blatent cash in type title, like if there was Ben-Hur 2 or Spartacus 2 or Macbeth 2 (or Bodybags 2) or something. esp since everyone knows he died at end of the first.
Perhaps the most similar film sequel would be the sequel to 300 but that went with a subtitle (Rise of an Empre)
Ridley talked alot about rights and ownership of his franchises in a recent interview with THR. thats why BR2 got made when it did bc some company aquired the rights in like 2010 and offered Scott the chance to make it (he was due to direct but it clashed with Prometheus 2) , with Alien he bizaraly was never asked back by Fox to do one until the prequel movie was put into production (there was a potential team up with James Cameron planned in 2000s but Fox went with AvP instead)
with Gladiator 2 they been trying to make it since about mid 2000s when that funny Nick Cave script of resurrected Maximus was around and ridley was pondering doing that or a more traditional sequel set years after Maximus' death, i guess they were umming and arring for a few years then he was doing all those other movies he did until he finally got around to it (which fits in with the 20+ years time lapse in the movie)
think it was called II so they could use the roman numerals
Ikr, in a recent interview Ridley Scott was asked about this and he was laughing at the ridiculousness of Quentin saying hes doing 10 and done and quitting at like age 60. he was like there's no way he won't make more movies lol
Now even MCU is trying to forget her lol https://x.com/CultureCrave/status/1858945364247953609
Hanks is rescued , taken back to land . Once back home the timeline resets itself and he once again finds himself on his way to the plane that is destined to crash, although he feels something is familiar this time, . He stops before he gets on the plane and instead decides to stay with Helen... They drive to a diner, there Hanks sees Mr Big sat on the next booth who is looking at Helen; and notices Helen is looking at him too. Hanks looks at his own reflection in the neon lit diner window. A strange look on his face.. The end

Even less likely now she's signed up to Star Trek (Starfleet Academy series), but I expect she'll cameo in Avengers Secret Wars
I saw Dune 1 (blind buy dvd), I have little to no interest in doing the same for D2

Ford would been far better off doing the 'good guy' role in a Scorsese's Cape Fear remake opposite De Niro. Than doing 'Regarding Henry' the same year, written by one 'Jefferey Abrams' (aka JJ Abrams)
lol, suppose they couldve recast like happened with Spacey on the Ridley Scott film, and like that cast a more apt actor for the job (like Hopkins)

Upcoming Star Wars Movie Pulled From 2026, Replaced By Ice Age 6
The Mandalorian and Grogu bringing the franchise back to the big screen on May 22. Disney and Lucasfilm had also booked a December 2026 release date, widely assumed to be for Daisy Ridley's New Jedi Order movie, although few believed it would hit that date; Rey's New Jedi Order movie recently lost screenwriter Steven Knight.</blockquote>
Rambo are still the same. First Blood I & II are 15, Rambo III is 18 (as is IV/V)
Alien mustve been resubmitted for its 40th anniversary rerelease (when was probably rereleased nationwide), maybe Aliens hadn't been rereleased on a big scale yet? . which would require it to be resubmitted to bbfc? . Maybe
Halloween 1978 is also a 15 now. Used to be 18 like the rest of them (except HIII is 15)
