Don't get people's obsession with Henry Cavill

And are demanding the boycott of everything Superman until Cavill is back because what else are they gonna do? what about going outside for some fresh air or get a life as long as you look past this one actor who seems to be central to your life.

What about giving someone else a shot? we've seen how Snyder cultists have treated Tyler Hoechlin, Brandon Routh's return as Kingdom Come Supes and now David Corenswet, people like Aaron Fischer, Mr H Reviews and Ryan Kinel are talking like a Superman film without Cavill is an automatic fail, anyone who might be cast as Superman is insulting Cavill or a new suit is again insulting Cavill, the mind has been warped with these people and their perception of reality, it feels like Snyderverse has affected people's brains and their idea of Superman, I really don't get it.

Remember when Michael Keaton was cast as Batman, there was an awful lot of hate fans who thought it was gonna a comedy and gonna be the worst, then what happen everybody started praising Keaton once they saw him in costume, so is it possible that the new Superman might be good? is it possible David Corenswet might be good? cause these people can't move past the fact that Cavill is no longer Superman and the new film isn't Man Of Steel 2 they can't comprehend this, they're too stubborn.

Cavill is never going to be an A-lister. The only BIG success he'll have is when he's connected with pre-existing major franchises. The time will never come when the movie-going public is gonna be excited for 'the next Henry Cavill movie'. He'll end up settling at around third name down the cast as far as big screen movies go (once his ego can handle that).

YouTubers I mentioned Aaron Fischer, Mr H Reviews and Ryan Kinel say Cavill should return but don't support any of the products he's in. If you wanted Cavill to return for more Superman you had to support Black Adam or any of his previous entries and they didn't do that.

Think some people don't like it when their favourite character is recast because they're so attached to the previous actor.

The sad truth is general audiences have moved from DCEU Superman and may have forgotten that Henry Cavill was Superman, largely because he was sidelined after Man Of Steel with BVS and Justice League.

I feel like Cavill is about as A-list as anyone is these days. The point has been made before that there are no real "movie stars" anymore. Guys like Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt certainly are beyond Cavill but that's because they are from the "movie star" era and still have that shine and mystique.

Let me ask you: If you don't think of Cavill as A-list, can you name someone under 50 that you do think meets the criteria?

Under 50 male I'd go Leonardo DiCaprio. Maybe Joaquin Phoenix. I was going to suggest Tom Hardy, but I'm not sure how much his non-franchise movies draw the crowds, despite his general acclaim as a performer. Female, maybe Margot Robbie. There aren't too many that can carry a film's success based solely on who they are and what they do rather than relying the draw of an IP. Over 50 (but not by much), Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham - and they both had that draw-power before they hit 50.

Maybe I should've said under 40. Leo I would agree with but that's because, like Cruise and Pitt, he comes from another era.

Basically I am saying that I don't know that ANYONE will ever be what we once thought of as A-list again just because the industry--and more importantly audiences--have changed. I think you're right about Robbie insofar as she is as close to A-list as you will find from her generation. On the male side, I feel like someone like Chris Hemsworth would fit the bill. Or if you want to go with a totally different sort of actor, even though I don't fully understand the appeal, Timothee Chalamet is certainly at the forefront right now and seems to have some staying power.

If his DC films prove anything he doesn't spice up a bad or mediocre film.

He isn't a huge box office draw as seen with his latest films.

Yeah fans can be painful.

That said, I haven’t seen what you’re talking about in support of Cavill, could be because I don’t pay much attention to it. I thought most people were happy to see him go.

There's plenty of online articles and YouTube videos about what's wrong with James Gunn for not using Henry Cavill. Think people are so attached to the actor that they don't think about what could be.

Where were all the fans and supporters when Man Of Steel, BVS and Justice League came out? even The Witcher is hated even with Cavill in it.

If you wanted Cavill back as Superman his films had to have been well received and they weren't. It's a problem with movies intended to start a franchise, if the first instalment doesn't break box office records and isn't well received by audiences and critics they scrap all sequel plans and start over, so they don't give anyone involved a second chance.

I for the most part intensely disliked the Snyderverse but I thought Cavill was a good Superman given the scripts he was given.

But many fans and whiny YouTubers anger over Cavil not returning are making it sound like only Cavill can Superman no one else and no one will watch a Superman movie without him.
