flu shot

I had the flu shot today and my arm is killing me - I hate needles but every year I go through this.

reply

I don’t believe in them

reply

why not ??

reply

Because I’d rather deal with getting the flu than an shot that I don’t need, if I were to get the flu

reply

Are you one of those anti-vaxxers ??

reply

Not at all. I just don’t need a flu shot

reply

another year, another flu shot. 👍

reply

I got one about a month ago also. 👍

reply

I got mine a couple of weeks ago.

reply

I went to get my flu shot today and they had run out. So I had to make an appointment. I suspect more people are getting the flu shot this year.

reply

I got mine this past Wednesday. Luckily, no reaction.

reply

I got mine today and the lady said this one is making most people’s arms very sore afterwards.

reply

i can imagine that the covid vaccine will really hurt.

reply

I got them regularly while I was still in the workforce because they supposedly have a cumulative effect as far as building an immunity. I haven't had a cold much less the flu for years now.

reply

i got in done today on a holiday monday. my arm hurts.

reply

My whole family gets the vaccine every year but we get the flu anyway, about every three years. One of my kids had the flu badly last winter, and it looks like he has some permanent health consequences from it. I am a big proponent of vaccines and will continue to get the flu shot but if the whole country shuts back down for flu season, I'm going to secretly be very happy, as we'll be less likely to get the flu.

reply

I've never gotten a flu shot yet, but I imagine that once I become old, I'll probably consider it. It wont be this year for sure. I'm already going to be wearing masks, distancing, extra hand washing, avoiding crowds because of the coronavirus, so I imagine that my likelihood of catching the regular old flu will be drastically reduced as well.

reply

I got the flu shot. early today. the year of the vaccine.

reply

i am feeling the effects of the vaccine right now. almost enough to make me question my pro vaccine position. 😊😊😊

reply

Definitely MY year of vaccines:
3rd Covid shot two days ago
Tdap 4 weeks ago
Pneumonia 2 weeks ago
Flu 3 weeks ago
Still due for Shingrex

reply

i have had the shingrex - it's on two doses.

reply

Is it on a par with flu or Covid shots? Or is it one of those that stings and burns the entire time?

reply

sore arm only

reply

Okie dokie!

reply

I got my Pfizer COVID booster shot yesterday and my first Shingrix four weeks ago.

reply

They were saying a few years ago that because of the anti-vaxxers that measles was making a comeback and if you were vaccinated for it between 1965 and 1967 to get re-vaccinated because apparently there was some issue with the vaccine those years. I’m on a immunosuppressant so I can’t take the measles vaccine since it is live virus so I had a titer done instead to verify I had the antibodies.

reply

I've never had the flu shot or a temp over 99.

reply

I started getting annual flu shots 15 years ago when my oldest son and his wife started having kids. They asked me to, and I said that of course I would. They're practically painless and I've never had more than slight pain at the injection site. I had the real flu in my early 20s. Really knocked me on my backside. I was practically unconscious and didn't get out of bed for three days.

reply

After covid I kind relied on my, I never get sick thing. I've had colds but never fevers. I work at an elementary school. My covid shot felt like nothing. I should probably be studied for the covid effects.

reply

I wonder why that is - that you never run a fever? 🤔

reply

Its genetics, my mom was the same. You can look at your parents and see how your going to die.

reply

I'm not surprised that it's chalked up to genetics, but I still wonder if scientists have figured out what it is with genetics that causes this. Hmm...
