I enjoy watching Beat Bobby Flay. He usually wins, beating the challenging chefs with their own signature dishes.
I've worked in a lot of restaurants and once toyed with the idea of going to culinary school myself.

I did send one in. It was about a local young punk caught spray painting graffiti across town one night. He told the cops he was, "the only member of a gang." 🤣 I remember the so called gang had a stupid name and in his mug shot he looked really stupid.

Two of my best friends from grade school up through high school were black. Blacks have their own, unique style of expression. I'm a boomer and I have a vague recollection that "cooked" might have come from "The Beat Generation." Maynard G.
