They weren’t immigrants, they were colonists, settlers.
Immigrants typically move to another country, colonists and settlers make countries.
Japan is mostly homogenous, and they enjoy the same benefits listed above.
You have yet to explain the benefits of a diverse population.
This show picked up a bit when Thrawn showed up, and I did like Kanan and Hera as characters. Sabine was cute too, though I didn’t like the girly graffiti art on her Mandalorian armor. Otherwise you’re right, this show was not that good.
Bringing Darth Maul back yet again was pointless since his story when nowhere. Yes I know something similar happened in Legends but it was dumb then too. He should’ve stayed as a one-off villain but writers kept milking his popularity. If they wanted to explore him more, have prequel books, comics, and games. Besides, I always liked Asajj Ventress more anyway.
The Force Unleashed and Jedi Fallen Order are more entertaining stories on what happened between episodes 3 and 4, stick with those instead.
The same police that people hate and want defunded?
The same police that were reportedly told to stand down and let the rioting ensue, forcing people to defend themselves?
Police that, by the way, have a reputation of arriving late to a crime scene?
People are praising him for being a good samaritan and showing their support. Better to support him than glorify criminals like Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and George Floyd.
When have conservatives ever rioted?
If he’s convicted and they still don’t riot, what will you do?
No one said they couldn't, other than illegal immigrants.
Yes I know, that's why I asked if you're a visitor. You even answered my question, thus seeing that I am aware of other categories than citizen and immigrant.
Did you sneak in or something? 😄 Or did you travel here for business or pleasure?
The movie may have gotten cringe and over-the-top with the "racism is bad" message, but the Chinese girl was just getting back at the blonde girl, she was being bullied and she gave blondie a taste of her own medicine.
That said, her remark about the Native Americans being the "only real Americans" is incorrect, since they are descended from Asian immigrants. The Norse and Beringians also immigrated to America at some point. Finally, it was the British colonists that formed "America" as we know it, before that it was just land that others occupied. It's just a matter of debate on who really got here first before Columbus finally put it on the map for the world to see. However, she's right that the land has always had immigrants.

A sarcastic answer for a silly OP question and the five follow-up questions.
He looks cool, sounds cool, had an air of mystery about him (before the prequels), has a unique-looking ship even by Star Wars standards with a cool name (before the change), and was one of the few characters able to talk to Vader on equal footing without getting choked and killed.
And yet, he had a very lame "death" in Return of the Jedi, that was unforgivable. But then, in both the Legends continuity and the Disney continuity, it turned out he survived, so his reputation wasn't completely tarnished.
It's certainly possible. Even though they're POCs, that wouldn't stop the Left from framing them as allying with gun-toting white supremacists, or even being called white supremacists themselves, on top of being made accessory to murder.

He told the court that he didn't ask the men to protect the business, but he also didn't ask them to leave.

It's interesting that the Car Dealership brothers didn't ask the armed group to leave. If they didn't want armed guards, they should've told them to leave.
As for whether they really asked anyone for help or not, there's still the brothers' parents, who also own the car dealership and have yet to be called to the stand if I'm not mistaken. We'll see how that goes.
Ergo, the rioters and looters started the fight, so nobody should be surprised that innocent people defended themselves and asked others for help.
Who cares? Actors are supposed to pretend for a living. We ourselves should pretend we can’t hear the deaf community complain for attention. For all we know it’s a perfectly-hearing liberal doing the complaining anyway, while the deafs couldn’t care less.
But let’s keep pretending America is the bigoted country that hates gay people, even though those other countries won’t even show movies if gay people are in them.
Eh, both of them have enjoyed modest success.
I DO think that Cyclops should’ve been the main character in X-Men, not Wolverine. He’s the leader of the team and has a similar boy-scout personality to Superman and Captain America, both of which proved popular main characters with audiences.
Whether that would’ve boosted Marsden’s career, I don’t know. I think he’s a handsome and good-enough actor, not bad, not great.
Are you sick of seeing them specifically because they’re white and male? Or because some of them are over-hyped to you, despite race and gender?
If it’s the former, then yes, that’s racist and sexist. If it’s the latter, then that’s your opinion, and that’s fine.
No, I don't see the sexism in there. You're focusing on the wrong detail and jumping to conclusions.
I'll say again, the media keeps making a big deal about race and gender when it shouldn't. Anyone who disagrees with the hype is labelled racist and/or sexist, which is a cheap cop-out to dismiss any valid criticism. Because of that, any praise that's given to these people doesn't feel earned. That is what I believe filmgeek99 and others have been saying.
Once the media and corporations stop making a big deal about those things, and stop with the diversity quotas that forces companies to hire a certain number of specific people, regardless of qualifications, THEN, when someone is praised for something, it'll likely be seen as earned and not forced.
Diversity is fine, but not when its forced, and not at the expense of quality. If representation is such a big deal, let other countries represent themselves, no need to force America to cater to everyone. If it's just some random movie, nobody cares if the cast is diverse as long as its fun. But if the movie has roots in culture and mythology, then changing a character's race, gender, and/or sexuality will not be tolerated. There are other cultures and mythologies that haven't been explored yet if people really want diversity and representation.
There are talented women and POCs out there, the irony is that the media and Hollywood have made it harder for them to be recognized since a lot of mediocre people are being forced down our throats. And we're not allowed to criticize, which has probably desensitized us from seeing any genuine talent.

Where I have assigned a belief which you have not expressed?

When you claimed that I believed that anyone who's not white can't succeed of their own accord. I never stated or implied that.

Diversity quotas have been around for a long time. They are not something new. It started in the 70s.

Preventing discrimination among the workforce and giving everyone equal opportunity is not the same as what's happening now, which is giving POCs and women special treatment over white men to fill quotas. That goes against what was placed in the 60s.

I never said that boxes weren't being ticked. You again are assigning statements to me which I have not said.

Your words, "That problem is being addressed currently and sure it can feel like the pendulum is swinging too far out there. There are some casting choices which I don't like because it doesn't feel authentic. Those do feel like boxes are being ticked. "
On some level you agree with me. Plus you're under the impression that POCs and women aren't being hired because some white men in charge only hire other white men, hence you stated the diversity quotas won't go away until management is mixed and therefore employees are mixed. Sound like ticked boxes yet?

You have taken this conversation in circles. The subject which we are discussing is filmgeek99's comment about women directors getting praise simply because they are women.

This conversation is still related to that. You thought filmgeek99 had a problem with female directors, I think he merely has a problem with diversity hires getting over-hyped for diversity's sake. You and I disagreed over that and gave our reasons, and here we are.

why is it that when I brought up other directors who could be considered mediocre and who have won acclaim, you have changed the topic?

Do you consider them over-hyped? I don't care either way if you do or don't, I found it irrelevant.
