Nah, I think Spider-Man: Far From Home will be the first to break $1 billion post-covid, especially if the rumors are true about Garfield and Maguire showing up. Word of mouth will carry that movie far. Where have I heard this before? 🤔 Oh yeah, with Black Widow and Shang Chi. They had strong opening weekends too. Then they fell sharply in the following weekends, got anything to say about that, op? *crickets* Yeah, thought so. I doubt that’s why people disliked it. That’s not what I’ve heard and read when it came to Quantum’s problems. Watching the two back-to-back does help Quantum a bit, but it was considered a Jason Bourne wannabe instead of a James Bond film. Casino Royale felt like it had more effort put into it, a stylish Bond movie for the new age, while Quantum felt like a fast-tracked generic action movie. I’ll say this though, I’d rather rewatch Quantum than No Time To Die. I guess back then writers thought you could change your sexuality with the flip of a switch, and it seems "bisexuality" wasn't yet a thing to them either. Writers today haven't gotten much better with writing non-hetero characters, they forget to give them depth beyond who they screw in private. The drugs too, and covid, all of it. People have brought it all up, but the MSM doesn’t care, and the mob doesn’t care. People ARE talking about it. They’ve BEEN talking about it, you’re hardly the first to bring it up. Reddit, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc, has had a bunch of people who didn’t buy into the propaganda point out that he was drugged, sick, and dying long before the cops got to him. The problem is the MSM and censorship. Are you sure they’re the ones it’s lost on? Woke and diverse aren’t the same thing. Movies have been diverse long before the wokists started complaining about it, and they haven’t contributed anything to diverse representation since they infiltrated entertainment media. Diversity is about promoting new characters from different regions and putting in actual effort to make people like them; wokeness is about making pre-existing characters look bad and promoting new characters relying only their race, gender, and/or sexuality, and prioritizing agendas over characterization and entertainment. Now V for Vendetta? THAT was a woke movie: - anti Christian - anti American - pro Muslim - pro LGBT - straight white bad guys - female protagonist - deformed possibly asexual male protagonist Of course, I'm purposefully reaching with some of those points, but V for Vendetta fits the woke mold a lot more than the Matrix movies do. Are you implying that they couldn't keep up unless they lived life on easy mode? There's a difference between lowering standards and equal rights. I think it'll turn out like the Deadpool movies. The first one was alright, held back by behind-the-scenes studio interference but saved by a likeable main character. The second movie has a bigger budget and more confidence from the studio, so it'll hopefully be better movie overall. What I think that person was trying to say was that Snyder initially had too much control over the DCEU, then when it turned out his vision wasn’t a good one, WB overcompensated by impulsively meddling with movies like Suicide Squad and Justice League, and we know how they turned out.
