Sorry for the lack of responses. I've been wanting to sit down and watch a few of the ones you're highlighting to make comments, but clearly I have not :D. Will prioritize the ones you're listing for sure. Maybe I can get my gf to watch them with me.
I saw Mask of the Phantasm a few times in the past decade or so, and I loved it. I think I just wasn't able to appreciate it back when I saw it in theaters way back when. But now, I'm like, whoa, it really pushed the envelope on what we thought we could have expected from TAS.
Perhaps, I shall. I haven't seen The Sixth Sense again in years. I guess it doesn't help either that, looking back, I'm just not as impressed by The Sixth Sense either, esp compared to the movies he immediately did afterwards.
In my defense, I didn't rank Split/Visit/Sixth Sense. :D Not exactly how I feel about them relatively to each other.
Well, for what it's worth, The Visit put him back on the map haha. We wouldn't have gotten Split or Knock at the Cabin.
Another one for the blocklist.
I really enjoyed it too, but unfortunately, I'd place more of his good movies above Cabin. I have The Village, Unbreakable, and Signs in my top 3 already, with Split, The Visit, and The Sixth Sense all somewhere after that.
Battle of Atlantis was absolutely amazing.
Nicole Kidman's fight scene in the beginning with the rotating camera, it set the bar high and thankfully, most of the movie's action sequences kept up the hype it gave me.
same here!
I love that they got that guy back for their anniversary featurette. He got to be a part of cinematic history there XD
What the other person said.
And make sure you pay off the credit card bill/statement balance (not the total balance) every month. That way, you never get charged interest. You only pay what you would have spent anyways. And your credit card utilization stays active.
And if you ever run into someone who says it's good for your credit to pay interest, ignore them.

Newsflash for all of you here: That's NOT what I'm about. I hope to shake things up around here, and I hope you will all support me in the endeavour of injecting some more nuance, interrogation and analysis into these threads, as well as a healthy dose of civility and diplomacy, and much less partisan, binary, antagonistic rhetoric.

lol another political shill/sock has risen on moviechat.
There's plenty of right wing folk on this site who just get mad when a new character is gay too. Knock at the cabin was hit with that. It's based on a book, whose protagonists ARE gay. But a couple of ppl were still hating on it nevertheless.
No one was recast or reinvented, but unfortunately, it still incited a few prejudices nevertheless.
I finally saw Frozen recently. I didn't realize that she was basically one of the antagonists of the movie lol
Gotta be The Lost Boys
goodfellas. on multiple levels.
Yeah, OP fell prey to the clickbait headline, missed the context of the writer's argument...and all this to push some ridiculous conspiracy theory about cosmetic surgery and gym memberships.
This is all about the romanticization of serial killers, that's all.
The couple's sexual orientation is directly integrated into their characters and the plot. As for the adopted kid, it definitely could have been any race but that's why it doesn't really stand out either.
It is frustrating that Shyamalan's weakness still seems to be the woodness of his script. But yeah, you're right, he's able to pull out these great performances nevertheless. But yeah, strong cast across the board. Even the kid.
well, in retrospect, I think he changed the title because he changed the ending.

Why, then, is this same advice not issued to the trolls who suddenly feel shame and remorse for being called out on their repeatedly awful board conduct that they insist on maintaining? Why not tell the person courting attention through contentious, divisive and disingenuous posts to block the responses of any user who tips over his poorly constructed house of cards with a flick of a finger? The door does not seem to swing both ways on this issue.

Yep. That's actually precisely why I considered leaving this site a few months ago. Because I saw that in action.
Reported for blatant spoiler in the title.
