Matt Reeves is the right man for sure. I have seen his Planet of the Apes trilogy and it is fantastic, as well as Cloverfield and this looks like he is bringing in his horror elements from Cloverfield into this.
Your definitely right about the style. The visual elements featured in this film just looks right out of a Batman comic. The Nolan films are great and The Dark Knight is my favorite comic book film ever but I will admit, those films kinda do lack the visionary elements that we would get in a modern Batman comic. This film honestly looks like style of the Arkham games, which imo is the best depiction of Batman and Gotham ever.
I definitely can't wait to see what Dano brings to this. He is fantastic and I loved him in Prisoners. As well as Kravitz as Catwoman. She looks fantastic and yeah, Greg Fraisers cinematography is fantastic and I can't wait to see what he does with this and Dune.
Yeah everything we have seen so far just screams Batman. The cinematography, production design, bleak tone, and pure awesomeness that we have seen from the trailers thus far is just pure Batman.
Yeah I agree. I'm a fan of some Marvel films but for the most part they are just pure action superhero flicks with dull cinematography that really only appeals to kids. Denis Villenueve was definitely right about the whole "copy & paste" analogy.
I only compared The Batman to Spiderman is because spiderman is my second favorite superhero behind batman and I'm aware of the high anticipation of No Way Home.
Why do you think it's gonna suck? My expectations are very high for it and I honestly see it turning out to be a hit, but anything can happen though.
Well Skyfall was released a week after Wreck it Ralph and a week before Twilight, and that film made over a billion worldwide with WIR & Twilight being BO hits. It could be the same instance for No Time to Die. I don't think it will crack a billion like Skyfall, but it should do quite good, especially if it receives great word of mouth.
I'm sorry but this film was MILES better than the first one.
I'm sure it'll be up there for me as well. Hopefully top 5.
That's a great top 10 by the way, even though I find Guardians just a tad overrated but still, great list. My personal top 10 are...
1. The Dark Knight
2. Infinity War
3. Logan
4. Winter Soldier
5. Joker
6. Endgame
7. Civil War
8. Deadpool
9. Avengers
10. Batman Begins
Like I said, they take posters down to replace them with other films coming out. Eventually when we get closer to release, they most likely will display them back up again.
Well I think many theaters promote a lot of films releasing a little far in advance. My local theater often displays posters and banners for films releasing in like more than five months so I don't think it's a matter of how far the film is away from release.
I see where your coming from because yes, I wasn't a fan of Spectre as well but I am still excited for this one because it genuinely looks great, Cary Fukanaga as the director, and the producers seem very committed to actually not fall in the same negative aspects that were in Spectre because of how much they want to send Craig off on a high note. That's one of the reasons this film was green lit because they didn't want Craig to finish his tenure on a film like Spectre.
That being said, of course that doesn't automatically mean that the film will live up. The producers can say anything but I have a lot of faith in this one.
Bond irrelevant in the Craig Era?? Look how much praise Casino Royale and Skyfall received, as well as Skyfall being the highest grossing Bond film to become the first in the series to make over 1.1 billion. And you say Bond became irrelevant in the Craig Era. That's funny.
Also theaters can't just keep promoting one film in regards to its posters being displayed. They need to make some exchanges at some point to promote other films by displaying their posters in theaters as well. That has nothing to do with Bond not being worth promoting.
You do realize that there are other films coming out soon that theaters would also like to promote right?
Although I am very excited for this film, I agree, the current poster with the tux and the white background could use some work. I think the problem is the lighting. Like you said, Craig's skin tone looks too tanned and that's probably due to poor lighting and texture. I know many complain about the previous Craig posters because they look way too plain and simplistic, as well as the current No Time to Die one, however I actually really like the Craig posters because of the simple look to it and unlike the No Time to Die poster, the posters for the previous films actually had great lighting and it doesn't look like Craig is just simply tacked on. For example if you compare the Skyfall character poster with Craig in the tux and the white background to the No Time to Die one, you can tell the Skyfall poster looks much better because Craig's appearance is much brighter, which compliments the white background. If they were to just re-touch up on the lighting for the No Time to Die poster, it would look much better.
I also like the previous No Time to Die posters a lot. Such as the one where Craig is the blue tactical outfit, the IMAX one, and the black and white one with Lea Seydoux.
Scarlett is a beautiful actress for sure and I love her as the character. I'm still seeing this film no doubt but yes, it's long overdue. I get that this film may also set up Florence's character for upcoming films but still we shouldve gotten this film before Endgame and they could've still set up her character. Similar with what Civil War did with Spiderman and Black Panther. This film coming out now I feel will take away the emotional impact of Black Widows death in Endgame. I Just feel like fans and the MCU needs to move on from the old characters and start focusing on the future avengers.
Same here. I still intend on watching every upcoming mcu flick because I am still a supporter of the franchise however my anticipation for the upcoming films in this universe aren't nearly as it was pre Endgame. The characters I'm looking forward for the most are Spiderman, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Thor, and The Guardians.
Definitely. Like I'm still looking forward to it and plan on seeing it opening weekend no doubt. But I'm still not that crazy about it to be honest, especially compared to other films coming out this year like Dune, No Time to Die, or Suicide Squad. I definitely agree she shouldve gotten her film like 5 yrs ago and that the film is a little too overhyped.
I would take it with a grain of salt since it's coming from The Mirror, which is not quite reliable.
Yes you are completely right. Music is subjective and everyone is entitled to their opinion. People may not like the things that I like and that's fine but I'm not just going to go around saying certain things are trash just because I happen to not be fan while also knowning that a particular artist is regarded as one of the greatests. I'm not a fan of Celine Dion but I'm aware of her success and that there are many who love her music but I'm not going around saying that she is trash just because I happen to not be a fan. So to answer your question, no I don't like every legendary artist but I like a majority of them and that the ones I don't like, I still have respect for because I know about how much of an impact they had on music.
In regards to MJ, no its not because I never heard of anyone who doesn't like him doesn't mean I think everyone likes him. I just never heard someone actually say they don't like him in general but I know not everyone is a fan.
Well then that clears up everything. You just happen to not enjoy music by legendary artists and I have never heard someone say they hate Michael Jackson.
How about comparing Eminems sales to something similar to his league like Elvis, or Michael Jackson who are successfully praised high selling artists like Eminem. What now? Are you gonna tell me Michael Jackson and Elvis are trash too??
What about The Eminem Show? That's also regarded as one of his best albums.
