Emma was well known before Dynasty for playing the love interest of (I think) Scorpio on General Hospital for several years. She and Scorpio were always on the cover of soap magazines. They almost rivaled Luke and Laura for a time.
It wasn't that I didn't LIKE her as Fallon, it's just that she was not at all recognizable in character and spirit as the original Fallon. She shows up with a British accent that PSM never had and she was a bit of a wimp too.
I would say he wasn't sexy but distinguished looking, and the fact he was a billionaire didn't hurt either. But Viagra wasn't developed then, so sex might have been off the table or soon to be.
Definitely in my top Xmas movies of all time. Either you get the humor and find it hilarious or you don't. So just move on and watch Miracle on 34th Street if that's your thing, people.
Cut that teacher some slack. She was probably exhausted from breast feeding her newborn in class and sharing custody with her boytoy student.
That was my feeling too, that the actors were having a behind the scenes thing going on. Like Marcia and Greg Brady, the actors were really into each other, and their scenes together just didn't read like brother and sister. Which DNAwise they weren't.
Yep, I'm watching it now, and I was totally a Torrance in HS (like wow, right on, like totally freak me out! lol). But dang, I was getting girl crush vibes on Eliza. Her whole vibe just worked for me, maybe not lez but admiring.
I'm glad someone else started this thread instead of me. I had to look on IMDb to see how old she was in this. Only 34/35!! I'm in my 50s and I could pass as her daughter. Mary Astor looks so old and matronly in this, her makeup seemed to enhance her wrinkles and thick face to make her look like she was in her 50s. I didn't get it. There were plenty of femme fatales that would have been better in this. Mary Astor lived plenty obviously in her 34 years, but as a sexpot femme fatale she was horribly miscast. She should have played the middle aged mother if they could write a role for that.
Yeah, it made no sense. For her to be burned by the gastric juices she'd have to be put inside its STOMACH and opening up a cow's stomach to fit a woman would have let out all the gastric acids anyway. So stupid.
I'm also so sick of movies that have captors FINALLY getting the upper hand, holding the damn gun, and NOT USING IT!!! If someone is dead set to kill me and I get the gun in my hands, that Fer's head will be blown off faster than a lamb's tail.
Yep the cop and the hillbilly seem to get away with everything. The only good thing about this movie, pretty much.
Exactly. Vera/Ann Savage was certainly a detour in his task of finding his girlfriend.
Yeah, I was getting the vibe that they were going to make up. Or just bone. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to see a divorced couple getting along so well.
My Lifetime loves will always be Josie Davis and Jamie Lumer. Classic Lifetime.
No. And neither did I!!!
Exactly. If you don't follow the orders, you could get killed.
Yeah, at the beginning when he's talking to some guy and then calls him "son", I was like wtf? Then it went back in time, obviously from the 40s, and I didn't realize that's what happened because he looked like he did during the Bay of Pigs. They could have done better with making a distinction between young and old Edward.
Right?!?! lol
The Waltons and definitely the Ingallses could meet up for an afternoon delight when the kids are at school. Otherwise they'd have to wait really late and be very quiet.
I thought she was okay in Bionic Beauty when she sang Feelings (I can't stand that song). No she's not a good singer, but she could carry a tune. And frankly if you've ever watched the Miss America Pageant, many are MUCH worse. I think that was a 70s thing where the networks wanted to promote their stars as multitalented. Lynda Carter was a professional singer before she got into acting and she had her own singing specials, so I guess the network wanted to see if LW could do the same.
Exactly. I would ask them what they think of the original Star Wars movie and its special effects. That looks really dated too. But it was considered great back in the 70s.
In one episode we see a letter written by her and it was spelled Jamie! Whoops!
