Any more news on this? I'd also heard speculation that they were going to do a movie instead to wrap up all the plotlines. "Has this come to pass?" In a WEEK?!!! Are you delusional? I'll use TFG's favorite justification.. it's just common sense that China and Russia would take the opportunity to gain influence in regions and countries where the U.S. used to provide aid. You do know that the whole "alpha/beta" thing derived from wolf packs has been proven to be total BS, right? In my many decades of experience, men prove themselves by their actions, not by going around claiming to be "alphas" most of whom in reality are just insecure bullies and *holes. Dems need to forcefully jettison their loony left wing. I'm sure you're being sarcastic, but the reality is I know a poll worker in Missouri who said more than one husband insisted on being in the voting booth with his wife and she had to sign a certificate stating she was incompetent and needed help to vote. Very true story. As Keely would say: "She's mad fit!" Totally agree! I caught about 5 minutes of it and it looks like bad videogame CGI from the 2000s. Just awful. Forget Maddow read this... https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2022/04/inside-the-new-right-where-peter-thiel-is-placing-his-biggest-bets That might not have been 100% of suburban families, but it was a LOT of suburban families in the '50s and '60s - speaking as someone who grew up then. BBT was talking about the original Indiana Jones i.e. Raiders of the Lost Ark, and they're 100% correct; Indy is superfluous to the plot and outcome. Here's a just couple, but I'm sure you'll cry "biased media" <shrug> According to Melon Husk though free speech is completely free, so even if it criticizes him, it's free speech, right? I mean he seems OK with reinstating accounts of neo-Nazis and their ilk, so.... https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2024/08/07/musk-x-harris-bias/ https://newrepublic.com/post/177936/twitter-suspends-accounts-journalists-critical-elon-musk Yeah except it's NOT free speech. It's Elon-approved speech. There are many examples. Didn't look very immune to me...🤔 You know that "fascist" doesn't actually mean "someone I disagree with," right? Words have real, defined meanings that you can't change just because they sound scary and you want to use them to describe a political opponent. You MIGHT have a weak case if you called him a socialist (which is pretty much the exact opposite of fascist). But oooh "fascist" sounds scarier!!! Madonna (in her prime) would like a word. "Dr. Who has always been diverse" then spends the entire article talking about companions and side characters... 🙄 It's an interesting question that I had while reading the book too, especially given how short even the "stable" eras were depicted as being. One possible answer is that the repeated extinctions selected for organisms that could retain memories and skills during dehydration and basically pickup where they left off. I settled on thinking of the San Ti as highly evolved tardigrades which, on Earth, can go dormant and survive any number of insanely harsh environments. Now... that said, we don't see any highly evolved tardigrades running around on Earth. Basically down to suspension of disbelief I guess. Honestly I think the author just felt that the three body problem (the astrophysical one) was just really cool and so just used it as a plot device in the book as a way to highly motivate the San Ti to find another planet vs. just making them aggressive/hostile for no explained reason. And if you STILL didn't get it... Ep 6 waxes rhapsodic about how the alien race they're visiting "doesn't have a word in their language for social status or class and they have 3 genders!" AND Burnham picks the fat chick to continue the foot race instead of having her work on the tech which IS supposedly her specialty (but hey fat people can win races too!) AND the whole point of the race, to select a "sacrifice" aka someone who gets killed, is so blindingly obvious to anyone BUT Burnham and the crew that it's literally painful to watch. I'm reminded of the line in Galaxy Quest where Guy exasperatedly asks: "Don't you people ever WATCH the show?!!!" This has now descended to the level of unintended parody. I really wish the guys at South Park were viewers! Two reasons. ;^) Oh yeah, each season (and even each episode) is exponentially worse. Last 2.5 seasons I've just been hate-watching it to see just how bad bad can get.
