Elon Musk Says He’s Moving SpaceX And X From California To Texas, Blames New Trans Privacy Law

Newsom is a fascist. When all the sane people leave California we can build a wall to keep the loonies in.

Elon Musk is moving the headquarters of social media platform X and rocket ship maker SpaceX from California to Texas, blaming a new law that bars school districts in the state from requiring that parents be notified of changes in their child’s gender identification.

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the law, the of its kind in the nation, on Monday. It says school staff can’t be required to disclose a student’s gender identity or sexual orientation to any other person without the child’s permission, with some exceptions.

“This is the final straw,” Musk posted on X, formerly Twitter. “Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas,” he wrote.

“I did make it clear to Governor Newsom about a year ago that laws of this nature would force families and companies to leave California to protect their children.”

nah Newsom is 100% right here, a school should not be a parent here. Musk is an asshole. School should respect student privacy. Its not their fault a child is afraid of a parent.

That's a lovely sentiment except that it is the schools that are teaching gender "studies" and confusing the children, then shielding them from the best and most influential people that can protect them.

depends on age, i think over 16 is fine. some states are also banning books and want to jail teachers that teach anything lgbt , so there are extremes on both sides.

While I agree completely with Musk on the subject, trying to use his influence as a major high technology company employer to change state policy is wrong unless he was first asked by Newsome (he might have - I don't know).

You know that "fascist" doesn't actually mean "someone I disagree with," right? Words have real, defined meanings that you can't change just because they sound scary and you want to use them to describe a political opponent. You MIGHT have a weak case if you called him a socialist (which is pretty much the exact opposite of fascist). But oooh "fascist" sounds scarier!!!
