Find out a bit about J. D. Vance ...

Rachel Maddow exposes the real reason JD Vance was chosen to be Trump's running mate
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRNy8v_Ocgg

Vance has stated clearly again and again he thinks the American system is at its end and is here to usher in a monarchy or dictatorship onto the American people.

Vance said that if he was in Mike Pence's place on January 6th he would have authorized Trump's fake electors and sent the country down the drain.

If the attempt to overthrow the US government by force is not a disqualifier for the office of the President ... then please tell me WHAT IS?

Trump/Vance are very bad news, at least if you believe in the US system and our Constitution.

Rachel Maddow does not look happy these days.

I didn't watch the video you posted because she is a paid propagandist, not a newscaster. She lies all the time.

She is unhappy because she knows Donald Trump will win on 11/5. Mr. Vance will become Vice President.

TRUMP/VANCE 2024

reply

You know who really lies all the time.
You and Trump.

I'm not lying when I say you're the dumbest motherfucker on moviechat.

reply

Don't trust anything she says. In fact don't even look at her or you will turn to stone.

reply

I'm sure you really believe that.

In a 2021 speech to the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, Vance blamed "the childless left" for America's woes, accusing it of lacking a "physical commitment to the future of this country."[153]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._D._Vance

He praised conservative Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán for encouraging married couples to have children and said that parents should "have a bigger say in how democracy functions" than non-parents.[153]

Vance suggested achieving this by allotting "votes to all children in this country, but let's give control over those votes to the parents of the children", with the result being that "nonparents don't have as much of a voice as parents".[154]

So if I am married and my wife and I have 2 voting age children, does my household get 8 votes?

Do the knee grows also get these additional votes?

reply

That is an interesting proposal. But giving full votes to children would be too much of an advantage, not to mention that the Muslims in the US, and Latins would hold a pretty large majority of votes. Interesting thought experiment, but irresponsible to actually say that or suggest it in public seriously.

Alice Marie Johnson was born in Mississippi, and her memoirs recount growing up as one of nine children of sharecroppers, becoming pregnant as a sophomore in high school, and later working as a secretary.[5] At the time of her arrest, she was a single mother of five children.

How many votes would she get under Vance's proposal?

Vance has introduced three tax bills during his short time in Congress, two of which seek to bring colleges and universities to heel, and signed on as a co-sponsor to at least eight others. Taken together, the bills blend traditional business-friendly tax policies with Vance’s brand of “America First” populist protectionism.

https://rollcall.com/2024/07/17/gop-vice-presidential-pick-has-diverse-record-on-tax-spending/

Of the three tax bills Vance has introduced, two would impose a higher tax on some college and university endowments. Vance has pushed to increase taxes on the university endowments, saying the institutions pay a lower rate than working families. University endowments face a 1.4 percent tax on gains to their endowments, if they hold more than $500,000 per student.

Vance’s bill, which has no co-sponsors, would increase the rate to 35 percent on private secular schools with at least $10 billion in endowments. It would affect Yale University, where Vance went to law school.

The second bill would impose a 50 percent tax on endowment assets...

FIFTY PERCENT OF THE ASSETS?

reply

Hmmm, wonder what the reasoning behind that is?

reply

Wall Street "populism." Students receiving scholarships from endowments don't pay interest on student loans.

reply

So, what's your point? 😂

"Senator Vance’s legislation would require colleges to remove encampments from campus grounds within 7 days if teaching, research or other core institutional functions are impeded."

7 days.

I wouldn't trust a Maddow piece any more than I would trust a piece from [insert name of right-leaning news source!]

reply

I would. Maddow rarely gets things wrong, but she is human and makes an effort, the Right-wing is built totally on lies.
