Yeah it will take all night for her and a large group of spin doctors to come up with some mitigating explanation/apology. They are in some big war room right now hashing it out. And now I have something to really look forward to tomorrow.
Im surprised she has not yet issued a press release gushing apologies, but its coming. She pissed off the only other group of people that the blacks cant just say anything against, the Jews. If Joy Behar said “Slavery is not about race, its about mans inhumanity to man.” Whoopi would have spit her whiskey out all over the desk in a rage. I am interested to see if she gets cancelled…

I thought this was an amazing performance by Cage. He gave us everything in this. We got serious actor Cage and unhinged Cage and it all fit into the context of the story. We saw a full range of his talents outside of the macho hero archetype. In 2022 we know snuff does exist and is real but in 1999 it was still urban legend. I also think this is one of Schumacher’s better directorial works except for the very end conflict with the Machine. That was a bit by the numbers and hamfisted. But on the other hand I will never forget the scene when Cage calls her mother seeking permission/motivation to kill Gandolfini. That was powerful and goes to good writing. That Moroccan music was completely out of place and did not belong and your right that this seemed like a perfect David Fincher project. I gave 8/10 and it still holds up.
Unfortunately he hasnt blown my hair back since 2007’s There Will be Blood. Usually a great director can make about 3 amazing films before they fade, I think he has made his. That being said he is still very talented and I will continue to watch all of his projects because he doesnt make crap. Even his films which I am not so fond of are better than most.

Awww. I really feel bad for her for some reason. She was the cutest cutie pie ever. Its just time and age, happens to us all. Actually I cant believe shes 58 now. Time really flies.

You are correct it is uncommon but it does happen occasionally and its usually with giant blockbusters like this. Given all the covid nonsense the box office performance of this film is rather stunning. It makes you wonder what the totals would have been in a non covid era.

Now that I have seen both I can say they are very different stories and films except for the bear attack. Its odd considering both are based on the same source material. I think to argue that The Revenant is a remake of this is a semantical one though they do not have much in common. From my perspective neither was a great film as I gave both a 6/10.
That was Olivia Wilde btw. Also J.K. Simmons played that freemason dude in the coffin. It was hard to tell.
Gotcha. Now Im glad I didnt watch the Boba series. I am also not watching Peacemaker but I am jazzed for MoonKnight.
