It made 235 million worldwide. That's not a flop, moron.
It's the highest Toy Story opening ever. Calm the fuck down.
I can say the exact same thing back to you. Yeah, because everyone is judgemental assholes and would actually care that much about a procedure that's done to lots of couples.
Grandmother aged? A 50 year old? Only if she had kids very young or her kids had kids very young. Which you could say the same thing about a 40 year old. Is a 40 year old grandmother aged?
You seem intent on beating a dead horse. The things you tried to paint as awful, are anything but. Maybe the real issue is you used the word awful, instead of something like different. I mean really, saying that Phobe being a surrogate for her brother is awful is just idiotic.
You repeatedly ignore the actual facts of Phoebe giving birth to her brothers kids. Much like you call Ross, you're being very ignorant or stupid about it. Her brother and his wife couldn't get pregnant. She offered to carry their babies and give birth to them. That's not a supermarket tabloid for christ's sake, that's a legitimate procedure people do. When a couple want a baby but cant have one, one option is a surrogate. That's what happened here. I don't think anyone would give a fuck since it's not as if Phoebe and her brother had sex, which is something you dont seem to understand. This is how that conversation would go for most people:
"Hey Phoebe, I cant believe you're pregnant, congrats!".
"Thanks, but I'm actually my brother and his wife's surrogate, since they cant have kids".
"Oh really, good for you for doing that for them".
Yeah, real tabloid inducing stuff. And once again, her brothers wife was 50. If you call that elderly, maybe you think we still live in the middle ages when that was considered really old. This is isnt Hugh Hefner marrying a 20 something when he was in his 90's. Is it a little different? Yes. Would people care as much as you're claiming? No.
Guess my reply is too long, so I'll finish in a second post.
6. Continued.
And the humor is 100 times worse in the prequels. Jar Jar freaking Binx? Poop and fart jokes? C3PO is even more slapstick and ridiculous. The battle droids sound like they're on helium. They're so much worse humor wise than this movie.
8. The original trilogy didn't have a plan. Lucas had no plans for after the first Star Wars movie. He can pretend he knew everything, but he didnt. As evidenced by things like Luke and Leia making out. I dont think it's a problem for this movie. Honestly, I like that its different. That they tried giving a different director a chance to do his own thing. Did it completely work? No, but I think quite a bit did. I also like that we have no idea where the third movie is headed. You talk in another point that they throw out plot points, but now we can't predict what's going to happen. I like that.
I understand a lot of people dont like this movie. And I dont think you're wrong in any point. We just feel differently. But for those points, that's why I liked them.
I'll reply to a couple.
3. Would that have been cool? Sure. But come on, that's just fan service. The three of them got their own trilogy. It seems like the plan was for each to get the focus in one movie, Ford in FA, Hamill in TLJ, and presumably Carrie in the next one. We didn't need a scene with the three of them if it didnt fit narratively.
4. I don't think it alters Luke's character in every way. The Skywalkers have always had light and dark in them. Anakin and Ben turn to the dark, and Luke comes very close. I can see how, in a moment of flashbacks and PTSD, he thought how killing Ben would save lives. And lead to his character in the present day. He clearly is ashamed of himself. I also like that it was different. He wasn't just this Obi Wan picture perfect mentor. We've seen that before. This movie gave Hamill a chance to do some legitimately great acting. I thought he should have been in Oscar contention, he was so good. He's a fictional character. You don't have to like it, but I dont think it's this massive issue.
5. This is a valid criticism, but one that's way, way overblown. Honestly, the fact people bitch so much about this is ridiculous. Yes, she uses the force too easily. Shes too powerful with no training. How about we all move on? It's a good point, but one that people cry about too much. I still think Rey is cool character and Daisy Ridley does a good job. Some people say this ruins the movies for them. That's hilarious to me. And let's be honest, Luke gets pretty damn good after one single minor lesson from Obi Wan. Not to mention how he somehow was such a good pilot. Same with Anakin. How did this slave kid become the best pilot alive? Cause he worked with junk?
6. Have you seen the other two trilogies? This complaint doesnt make sense to me. Yes, there's some slapstick humor. Just like in the other 6 movies. C3PO is comic relief and nothing more for every movie. We have ewoks dancing around in a funny language. Han has slapstick humor.
How is having sex with someone else before she dated Ross the same as Ross having sex with someone 3 hours after they broke up?
The episode when they break up is all about them going to have sex for the first time but not being able to because they view each more as brother and sister
But is it worth making a post whining and complaining about it? Again you aren't answering why it matters. He was gay. He said he went on a date with a guy. Why is that upsetting people?
I dont really have a problem with him having such PTSD or even being overweight and an alcoholic. But the fact it was a constant joke was dumb. I'm fine with occasional jokes about it, but it was nonstop and not even funny. Like he had an amazing scene with his mom, but then they HAD to add the joke, "And eat a salad" which isn't even funny or clever.
That's an excellent point. If the guy had said he met with a her, would the OP be crying about it? Nope. And that sums it up
How did it figure out the other 20 million people they were going to kill? That's the point. The algorithm clearly wasn't accurate. It was created by a psychopath who wanted to help hydra rule the world. So this "algorithm" was their excuse to kill 20 million people, whether they actually were threats or not.
No. Hydra had no access to the ancient one or any foresight. Strange was on there because he fit their algorithm. That was the whole point. Most of the people they were going to kill weren't threats to Hydra. This algorithm just said they fit the bill of people who could one day be threats or problems.
And it was just an Easter egg. They knew people would recognize the name and be excited about that.
But again, so what? They made this one minor character gay, and weren't even that obvious about it. The character didnt even say boyfriend or husband or anything. So again, what's the issue that they did put it there? They didnt have a main character be gay and change a whole character. It wasn't a plot point. It was a throwaway line. It should have no affect, positive or negative, on anyone.
Who the fuck cares? It was a 3 minute scene and it wasnt made to be a big deal, he just said he was dating a "he". Why are you being a snowflake about that?
"Everyone hates Captain Marvel". It has a 78% on RT and a 7.1 on IMDb. How is that everyone? It has a higher score than Iron man 2 and Dark World on both those sites and metacritic. Again, how is that everyone?
I mean if you hate captain marvel that's fine, it really isnt a good movie, but let's not pretend Iron man 2 or Dark World are any better just so you can try to make Captain Marvel sound worse. Iron man 2 and Thor 2 are terrible movies.
Lol. Enjoyable? Really? Those two movies? Wow.
Captain Marvel definitely isn't that good, but it's in no way worse than the crap fests that are Iron Man 2 and Thor: Dark World
What circumstances could Daniel not control?
He was more than a goofball. Would you seriously be okay with your husband constantly getting fired or quitting jobs, not taking anything seriously, and then acting like he did nothing wrong? Even the kids knew he lost his job AGAIN, and they assumed he got fired.
