Now it makes sense why Hydra name dropped Doctor Strange in The Winter Soldier

Most people since the movie released have questioned how Doctor Strange could be a threat and how Hydra predicted that he would be and wrote it off as just an Easter egg of sorts. Is it possible that Hydra was working with someone with the foresight of The Ancient One to help with their algorithm in figuring put possible threats? In Endgame when Doctor Strange is mentioned giving up the time stone, The Ancient One says something along the lines of "he's supposed to be the best of us so if he gave up the time stone he had good reason." So is it possible Hydra had access to this sort of foresight from someone or somewhere else?

reply

No. Hydra had no access to the ancient one or any foresight. Strange was on there because he fit their algorithm. That was the whole point. Most of the people they were going to kill weren't threats to Hydra. This algorithm just said they fit the bill of people who could one day be threats or problems.

And it was just an Easter egg. They knew people would recognize the name and be excited about that.

But how would the algorithm figure that out is what I'm getting into.

Though I guess it's just as simple as gathering data from current and past Hydra threats and comparing it to the data of the general population.

How did it figure out the other 20 million people they were going to kill? That's the point. The algorithm clearly wasn't accurate. It was created by a psychopath who wanted to help hydra rule the world. So this "algorithm" was their excuse to kill 20 million people, whether they actually were threats or not.

There's two explanations I can think of, and I just explained them both. One in my original post and the other replying to your answer.

Admittedly Hydra is full of psychos I'm sure, but would their algorithm not recognize possible allies?

@EvilPinata
It's most likely Ancient One used te Time Stone to forsee the future imo , but your theory is not far fetched

reply

It's a mistake. They make mistakes sometimes. Simple as that. This was never fully planned out from the beginning. People like to spend forever inventing theories but it's simply an error.

reply

Yeah it definitely was, now that there's more information about some facets of the universe though I'd rather theorize to fill in the blanks.

It's like the Infinity Gauntlet being in Odin's treasure room. Complete mistake, but they fixed it with Ragnarok by having Hela say it was a fake.

Also Tony Stark having Captain America's shield in Iron Man, though they fixed that too in Iron Man 2 by showing that he was just building his own replica.
