Well, we live in hope. Disney should have shoved her out the airlock already
This
Fuck Guinness, he hated Star Wars. Even told a young fan once to stop watching Star Wars. As far as I’m concerned, Ewan IS Obi-Wan
To me it will be. OT and EU excluded - they can never die. And no, Disney doesn’t get to tell me that EU isn’t canon.
But if 9 is shit, then I’m done with Disney/Kennedy Wars, unless Kennedy and the story team are sacked and future films only have A-list directors.
Even better, how about avoiding generalisations altogether?
This. The GoT writers have demonstrated their ability to build complex plots involving several characters, so they might produce something worth seeing.
Fuck Rian Johnson. Feed him to the Saarlac already. Or better, blow him out the Falcon’s airlock while at light speed, like Han did to the traitor Torm in the novel Han Solo Adventures:
With an explosion of air into vacuum, Torm (Rian) was hurled out into the pseudo reality of hyperspace. Once outside the protective mantle of the Falcon’s energy shield, the units of matter and patterns of energy that were Torm (Rian) ceased to have any coherent meaning.
The whole Disney buying Star Wars and subsequent fiasco (aka the sequel trilogy + Rogue One) was obviously a publicity stunt, at least so far as Disney is concerned. They clearly don’t give a fuck about SW per se. To them, it’s just another cash cow.
Oh they saw it, they just weren’t required to observe any kind of continuity with it. On the contrary, Disney gave Ryebrain Johnson carte blanche to do whatever he wanted. So he simply threw TFA over his left shoulder and ignored it in favour of using it as a vehicle to push an SJW agenda. He even symbolically indicates this by having Luke throw the lightsaber over his shoulder.
I just hope to god that Abrams can salvage the situation.

So Disney has basically Marvel-ised SW? Fuck ...
The entirety of CB could have been cut. It existed purely to give Finn something to do. It didn’t serve the plot one iota because they ended up captured anyway.
The Fresh Jedi of Bel Air
Yeah, but the way RJ made this film came across like he didn't even watch TFA or consult JJ.
I don't like his work. To me he's a hack. Pulp Fiction was incoherent, for example. It chopped and changed all over the place and was ultimately pointless. He also uses gratuitous, extreme violence to cover up the lack of a coherent story. Excessive violence throws me out of a movie (cf. Watchmen).
I'll never watch anything by him again. He's in the same sin bin as Tarantino as far as I'm concerned.
Please don't give Disney any ideas
Joking aside, I think the key problem with Johnson is that he simply didn't have enough experience to direct a Star Wars film. It's like getting a GP (MD) to do brain surgery, or an engineering undergrad to build a skyscraper, or a light aircraft pilot to fly an A380. You just wouldn't, you'd choose people with the right quantity and quality of experience, and Johnson is just too new to have either. Star Wars needs seasoned directors.
This is essentially what happened
I think 9 will be Abrams making a real sequel to his Force Awakens, and picking up stuff that Rian didn't touch, like the Knights of Ren.
One can only hope, because this wasn’t really a sequel at all.
So basically, IX will rehash Jedi?
