Getting the feeling that the better version of the film ended up in...
The deleted scenes...Rey getting trained...Hans funeral...the list goes on.
But hey...at least we got canto bight!!!π
I don't think the Han funeral was even filmed.
But, yeah, I think about 50% of Canto Bight could've been cut.
The entirety of CB could have been cut. It existed purely to give Finn something to do. It didnβt serve the plot one iota because they ended up captured anyway.

shareI saw deleted scenes on YouTube and all these great things we wanted were never filmed. Kids you will all be happy to know the deleted scenes consisted of more rose and Finn!!!!*heavy sarcasm implied*. Talk about lame I was hoping the deleted scenes would consist of more Kylo ren. Think how the movie would have been better if we saw a couple scenes of Kylo ren confliction in place of some of the rose and Finn stuff.
shareYeah, I think we can take that as prof Disney knew this movie had trouble. RJ wanted a 3 hr release and they forced over half of CB to be cut. Now if they had just read his script and made these cuts before filming or perhaps completely tossed it in favor of a better vision we would have gotten a good E8.
Notice JJ had to produce a pitch draft for (Bob Iger not Kathleen) this time before they greenlit anything. They know they are in trouble and that Star Wars is fragile especially if you piss off the core fans.
