Its been a long time, so I guess I will go with the most recently made film of the few I gave a 10, The Terminator (1984).
The dealings with Hannibal himself wasn't really true crime feeling, he was treated more like some kind of mythical monster than as merely a highly intelligent killer. The glass cage, the mask, his way of talking, reaction of staff to him in general, he was never a true crime style character. So why would a character handled in such a fanciful way escape in a boring way?
I don't think it will. It been 6 years, its not like the old days where you discover films on late night tv or the video store and it gets a new lease on life. Dredd was a big release and is readily available. It was close to what people wanted for the character and it still did poorly, in fact much worse than the much maligned Stallone version. While I like Dredd, and was entertained by it, its not really ground breaking stuff. Perhaps if a series really comes about...and its actually connected to this movie...maybe.
Mine is just a variation of the name I first used when chatting 20+ years ago. Bishop is a comic character I liked at the time, as well as being the name of the android in Aliens and Alien 3. 34 is a number I chose after I got irritated with trying to get Bishop to work...several people had already chosen the name so I started using random progressively higher numbers, 34 worked. Lord part I added for the same reason I used 34, issues with getting the user name at other services and I thought it sounded good together. Eventually just settled on that combination from that point on and have used variations of it since.
I like the user name so I don't have any desire to change it.
I think that is where age difference would come into play.. if the person you are with is the same age..who cares...however if you are 45 and she is 20...that could get a little weird...
I wonder if that is weird for a woman, if a man started calling her mommy...
The major issue usually is whether you all would have anything to connect with on a daily basis, and its not so much the age gap but the age itself. A person that is 30 with a person that is 45..sure....but when you get too young it becomes a question of maturity and priorities in life. I won't say don't do it, just make sure you are seeing her realistically and don't shrug off any red flags that may pop up because she is a 23yo girl.
I am not obsessed with it, but it was quite an achievement when they came out. He created a complete narrative that works all the way through three very long films with characters people enjoyed in a fully realized fantasy world that still holds up to viewing today and somehow looks better than the newer Hobbit films. I still have not come across a set of films in this type of fantasy that is superior to this trilogy.
Lightning Girl?
Lady DC?
Well, it depends if the parents are in need or not. If the parents are healthy and financially secure he should be out on his own making his own way.
I have always been partial to Emmanuelle (1974).
I actually have a few of his films lined up to watch on a few services. I watched Dead or Alive series, Ichi the Killer, Audition. I have Blade of the Immortal on the Netflix DVD list and Gozu on Amazon Prime list. Generally if I see his name on something I will add it to the list to watch at some point. You are right if you are easily offended or squeamish he is not a director for you.
I watch it with the wife, but even she is tiring of it. Few characters are left that she actually liked and one she does,Reid, takes multi episode breaks from the show. It seems likely this upcoming season will be its last. It ratings are not great and the contracts for the actors I believe runs out after this coming season.
I watch a bit of British programing and while I do believe they have the opposite problem of having too few episodes for some of their shows I find I prefer it over a 24 episode season that often has filler episodes and/or just plain bad ones. The last season of Criminal Minds just dragged on and on. I was actually hoping for cancellation.
It will take care of itself over time. I don’t think people that will watch it to spite Roseanne will stick long enough to make a series featuring supporting cast last. I could be wrong. We will see. I never cared for the show before not likely to watch it without its star.
Exactly what I mean, it would have to be a pretty dire situation.
Though in this day of "equality" isn't it sexist not to hit a woman if you are willing to hit a man if both are providing the same provocation?
IF I am assaulted yes I can resort to violence but it depends on the subj. I am less in inclined to hit a woman than a man. As for property no not unless it threatens my family's well being.
Well Charles Band's Full Moon Pictures and Troma films pretty much make their living in the so bad they are good genre.
I think people confuse when they became brother and sister because the idea works so well it folds into the re watching of the original movie as if it was always like that. The retconning of the sister thing just comes off a bit tacky and unnecessary. Not that yet another reboot within the original series featuring Jamie Lee Curtis back from the dead isn't already silly thing to do.
Some people don't like the sister thing. It never bothered me because it provides solid motivation for him. I find it unlikely whatever they have cooked up will be better than the sister attachment.
I just thought he added very little to TFA, he was annoying to me. In TLJ, like you said, he was pointless. I did lean towards Rose at first but having two movies of Finn trumped one movie of Rose.
