The ending left me little interest in watching a season 3 if they have one. Marcella and her behaviors have always been a little ridiculous, but this was going just a little too far for me.
How did he manage that?
I would have liked for them to have not bothered with the AVP films. I thought Predators was a pretty decent movie myself, I would rather it had continued along that time line. We will see if Black has created a good movie.
Though I like the idea of JCVD being in one of them given his history with the franchise.
Hmm your opinion doesn't have anything to do with Ewan's overall appearance when compared to Alec does it? :)
He appeared as Alec Guinness when he was a force ghost..so for consistency sake it makes more sense for him to appear that way. Anakin appeared younger in the SE of Return of a Jedi, but that could be he appears as the person he was before he completely fell to the dark side. I don't care that much. I like Ewan, so I would love for him to show up in the film. I have little to look forward to at the moment since the standalones seem to be on hold and RJ left little reason to be excited for part IX.
It never bothered me..and people that I know that didn't really know the actor couldn't tell he was partially a CGI creation. My wife's reaction was I thought he was dead rather than is that CGI. It helps that really only a part of him was CGI. Because of how they did it, other actors didn't have to look into space..or look at balls...to know where to focus...the actor was there, using his real voice and was in costume..and the most important part was the actors real eyes could be used, an area that used to be a big giveaway to CGI humans. It was something where knowing the actor is dead has a massive effect on your perception of this character I think. Because you are looking for the flaws unconsciously at the very least..consciously for most people.
For me this CGI > entirely new actor. I think his presence along with Darth Vader elevated the entire experience of the movie.
true, I think the budget is low enough that it will not lose money. On the other hand, I feel they were hoping for a better performance with the talent they had, and the blame game on the male critics was a sign of that. If you are the studio do you dare make a sequel to this when its performance doesn't indicate any kind of passion for the film or a continued franchise?
It depends one where you put the bar for hit, if it was the former cast this would be a failure. O13 was a disappointment and this new film has no chance of achieving that level of success.
If I am not mistaken, it is somewhat comic accurate from where they lifted the story from and just an expansion of what we already saw between Thor and Hulk in small pieces in prior films.
The contrast between Banner and Hulk would have been staggering with Knotts. Bumbling, cowardly, rail thin Banner and massive Lou Ferrigno Hulk!
I always wondered what career Lou would have had if not for the hearing issue.
You have to remember, people really wanted to like TFA, for the reasons you describe. I believe it was watched with rose tinted glasses by a fair amount of fans. Its still a solid film, and I won't say that it wasn't, but I will say my opinion of that film decreased hours after I saw it. The more I thought about that film the less impressed I was by it. And if you looked around a little you will see some peoples opinions of the film were hinging on how some of the loose ends and character issues were handled by TLJ. Well after RJ crapped all over TFA and the rest of Star Wars it had some blow back on opinion of TFA. R1 is still the best of the new films I have seen, and that film was not without its flaws and relied heavily on nostalgia.
TLJ was a dud, a financially successful one, but a dud nonetheless. Solo is paying for some of the sins that have come before and its own muddled production and short release after the TLJ mess.
Quickly is a bit strong word to use, its been 3 years and 4 films. 1 good movie, 1 solid film, a reviled one and a massive bomb. Prequels were all successful, but still took a lot of heat and the creator, some characters and actors still have not lived it down, why would you think the new films with many issues and a sprinkle of politically inspired nonsense would not suffer some heat after a few years?
Well, you apparently forgot, because it was all over the place when they came out..Anakin got a huge amount of crap along with both actors who played him. And George was questioned from that day forward, fairly constant right up and until he sold the Lucasfilms to Disney which at the time was considered a good thing. Its only with TLJ that people now seem to see it as an error and want him back...warts and all. It is what it is, people have turned sour on the new Star Wars and Kennedy is the one leading the new films, she does not get a pass because she is a woman.
"And he didn’t get half as much shit as KK did after one movie."
If you believe he didn't get half the crap Kennedy got you were clearly not paying attention when those films came out or you were to young.
I liked the first one, particularly Benicio Del Toro. SO they got him back with Brolin, so if it is at all good I think I will be happy.
You could spice it up with some adult classics
Deep Throat (1972)
The Devil in Miss Jones (1973)
and if you want to get really classy
Caligula(1980)
IN a time where people had more integrity and class. It would not be such an issue to replace her, but now you would have to fire her and most of the people under her because she apparently has a lot of cronies
Toy/merchandise sales are apparently far below expectations.
This is a big thing people forget about. Star Wars is not just the movies its a whole industry. The fact these things are doing poorly is a huge indicator there is a major problem.
Also some believe that because TLJ did 1.3 bil there is no issues. But it was supposed to make more and it failed to have the legs of the previous two films. It was successful financially but at the same time the performance of its run was disappointing and it fell short of expectations.
Hmm so there will be at least one likable character in the movie, so I guess that is a bonus.
Actually Grand Moff looked largely fine, it was Leia that had the major issues. Though I agree there is no reason to CGI Guinness when you have Ewan available
Well to be fair it really isn’t breaking any new ground. I didn’t like the concept to begin with, so when the trailer came out it didn’t wow me. I will watch it and I may enjoy it. But as of right now I am not thrilled with it so far.
