No, the second movie was the worst. That single handedly killed the franchise in its steps. As floored as it was, this movie was certainly better, but it still wasn't going to save the franchise. I remember Mel Gibson appearing on the Late Show with David Letterman back in probably the late 1990s and when asked whether he'd ever acted in something that was less than brilliant, Gibson joked about being in a film called Attack Force Z. Because of the name of it, I assumed it must have been a dodgy attempt at a sci-fi movie. A belief I held on to until I finally saw the movie today and was actually shocked that it was a war movie set in WW2. Anyhow, that being said, I have to say it really wasn't bad at all. So, I would have to agree that it was underrated. Back in the day, I remember a music TV program host in Australia speaking about this movie. I quite categorically remember her saying about how the movie actually goes into color at the very end, with this having something to do with an actual cherry moon. Now after all these decades I have finally seen this unfortunate travesty of a movie, but there was no such scene at all. Was the version shown at cinema's slightly different to what is available today? Was there actually a color sequence in the original cut of the movie? Actually, you've both hit the nail on the head with your respective reasoning. And that's why it gets a big old 4 out 10 from me. I never watched the animated Christmas special ‘Oy to the world’ at the time. However, all these years later I have just seen it. One thing that dated it, was a joke in which Fran’s animated self was covered in ice, but she managed to thaw herself out by excitedly thinking of Mel Gibson. This of course being a few years before Gibson’s alleged anti Jewish rant. Quite amusingly ironic now. Whenever this is on a TV and listed in a TV guide, the chances are, no one will bother watching it, because they will see the title Scream and they'll just think it's Scream (1996) which they have most likely seen before on more than once occasion. LOL Bill Cosby was always a left-wing darling and enjoyed it's protection. Even after some of the things he had allegedly done to women had been exposed, they were swept under the carpet pretty quickly. It was only after Cosby started to speak at public events with some right-wing leaning speech about the less desirable behavior of the modern generation of young black men, in terms of violence against women and drawing the attention of police with their behavior that things started to go against him. He soon drew the ire of young black standup comedian and other left wing media commentators. All of a sudden, the floodgates opened up as decades old allegations of sexual assault came from out of nowhere to end his career. So, the power of the tears of white women weren't enough on their own. it was only after Cosby changed their social narrative, that the protection he had disappeared. A similar thing is happening to Russel Brand right now, and only because he offended a few left-wing people with some right leaning speech on the internet. The one joke that didn't work for me was the joke of Madison not being dead after all. I know it's meant to be a horror comedy, but after showing her dying, the idiotic explanation of why she was still alive was a bridge too far for me. it was one instance where comedy didn't mix with the horror story. No one wanted to talk about politics in a documentary about the Spice Girls, but unfortunately the film maker did by using Trump's image at the end. I other words they have literally invited this discussion to happen. Amazing, you were kind of right. History has indeed furnished us with another Donald Trump. The very same one in fact. Glory Days as Bruce Springsteen might sing. It looks like the four eyed TV host will have to come up with four more years of hate speech for applause. It’s now November 2024. Donald Trump has won back the presidency and I/we can now look back at this and laugh. Though imagine the virtue signalling film maker would be crying LOL. Everything you said was also my exact interpretation of the ending. Also in my opinion, when Dobbs saw the candle blow out as the boys surrounded him, he knew he would die because of his belief in the superstition that the candle blowing out meant God was abandoning the church. This is true except in the case where a fellow liberal (like Bill Cosby or Russell Brand) suddenly comes out with some public right leaning speech or opinions. Then the floodgates can literally open up overnight and all protection disappears. I tell you what. The big old bathtub of celebrities up in Heaven is starting to get crowded now. Jim Morrison had it all to himself for many years, but he was eventually joined by Whitney Houston, Dolores O'Riordan, Aaron Carter and Matthew Perry. Well, I have always joked that they should make a Sequel to 'The Man Who Knew Too Much' called 'The Woman Who Knew Fuck All'. So maybe something similar for this, LOL. His show used to be on in Australia many years ago. I still have an amusing memory of a show that revolved around breast implants.and Phil made a comment that went something like “breasts, you’ve seen two, you’ve seen them all” AT LONG LAST THIS CORRUPT, INCOMPETENT, SENILE CREEP OF A PRESIDENT HAS INDEED BEEN FUCKED. Just the way he and Kamala Harris have f**ked America. I guess now that his dead, his identity can be used as a vote for whoever the Democrat presidential nomination ends up being. You're partly right. Biden needs to retire immediately so she can take over as president from the senile fool and face the consequences against Trump herself in November.
