Rated R!
It was alright...
The Call of the Wild
Not a bad Aussie WW1 film
Be patient with act 1 and 2, wait for 3...
The Terror Within - for those who enjoy low-budget mash-ups
A low-budget cheap Alien-Aliens mashup!
Slow, but interesting... but I don't recommend.
RIP Chad McQueen

As others have stated, I always thought that Vader simply got 'promoted' after Tarkin died.
I also feel that Lucas, being the smart filmmaker that he was, adapted to what was most successful from ANH for the rest of the films, eg. Vader resonated so well with audiences so he was made more prominent.
I completely agree that it has incredible sound design. This majorly contributed to the unique style and production and overall success of the film. It set new standards, that's for sure.
The musical score is another major contributor. Instead of having a trendy synthesizer score which was common to sci-fi of the seventies, Lucas went with epic orchestral music which really elevated our perception of what was happening on screen.
I know exactly what you mean. The cast selection was quite out of touch with the sci-fi crowd which had pushed Star Wars to number one in the box office.
Star Wars proved that relative unknowns can work really well if everything else is working for it.
I've wanted a remake of this for a long time. I really hope it happens.
Haha yeah, it was quite refreshing, and very well done!
'Saturday Night' is another new loosely, kinda-related / themed film, but I wouldn't recommend it. As much as I like the early SNL stuff, this film was a let down.
I've been a fan of their work since forever and actually just read through the Sep update yesterday!
I had wondered also if something had happened but, given the length of time things are taking, I'm guessing it's just taking them longer to bring us something good to share.
Bit of a soppy romance but there's Somewhere in Time, starring Christopher Reeve. You have to have a bit of patience to enjoy it.
Nice interpretation! :)
I didn't recognise the name but the face seemed vaguely familiar. Turned out to be the main guy from Brooklyn Nine-Nine but I honestly didn't recognise him.
I'm about 75% through and find it is a lot less enjoyable than I thought it would be.
