I don't see that there was any debate. He died. Everything was leading up to that moment. It was clearly stated, several times, he was just about done. If I remember correctly, his daughter read him her essay which is exactly what he wanted to hear while passing. As one last ditch show of love to her, he stands up and walks towards her. It makes perfect sense this would have drained every last ounce of life out of him. The lift up, which he obviously couldn't have done on his own, the white light, the memory - some people think this is what happens when you die. The memory, that part of it actually is biologically sound. Your brain will be flashing all kinds of stuff in your mind when you pass, due to it fighting for survival. But anyway, that aside, the ending of "The Whale" made perfect sense to me. Hahahahaha Ok, in all seriousness - thanks for the info And thanks for making me laugh today! Yeah, makes sense, thank you. The ones I keep in my desk, they're encased in plastic - so, one would assume they would always be ok for use. Agreed? I had 4 in my car and they were (to use 80s lingo) grody. They are now resting comfortably in a garbage can. Good point. But - on the other hand - wouldn't a mask become more dangerous if it is unused for months and months? See, this is what I mean, as one said previously - I've got 3 or 4 masks in my car. They've been sitting there for probably two years now. It would seem to be dangerous to use them now. I suppose it would be smart to always have a good clean mask handy. Because as you say, (its happened to me too) sometimes you're in a position in which someone around you is coughing. What I do now is cover my mouth with my hand and turn my head. Sometimes you get a dirty look, but hey, better than getting sick. Yeah, and thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten I have 3 or 4 in the console of my car. Been sitting in there for a long time now. I'm gonna chuck 'em today. Seems like any time a mask issue comes up (last time I recall was a Doctors office visit about a year ago) - the office will provide fresh, brand new face masks. There doesn't seem to be any need to keep them handy in your car. Although, I do have two in my office. I'll keep those just in case. What many consider to be the greatest film of all time opens with a wedding.... "THe Godfather" It would also be my fave. Ok, I've got one more. Yeah, she (The Austin Powers girl) looks great. Again, focusing on women with no non-natural enhancements. I believe she has not had any cosmetic surgery. Certainly could be wrong, but she looks natural to me. Ok, one more, this girl, also, I believe is 100% natural. 51 years old in this shot..... https://www.posterazzi.com/michelle-pfeiffer-at-arrivals-for-screening-of-cheri-directors-guild-of-america-theater-new-york-city-ny-june-16-2009-photo-by-kristin-callahan-everett-collection-photo-print-item-varevc0916jnbkh022/ How about this girl??? Pushing 51 in this shot..... https://addictionrecoveryebulletin.org/heather-graham-gets-candid-about-sober-living/ Looks to be completely natural. Very attractive. That's right, so what do you think? Does she look good for her age??? I've got another one. This woman, not only does she still look good, her classiness and elegance make her even more attractive. She is 50 years old in this video.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pr9wSXBmqKk Totally natural as well. I don't know man, this one is a stretch to put it mildly. Yeah she's all right. Ok I've gotta girl. This song was released in 1999. Figure the video was made around the same time. The singer (won't name her so as to surprise those that wish to take a look) was born in 1945. Making her 53-54 when this video was shot...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abw49k3rIN0 I don't think Botox existed at that point, although one could be wrong. For a 50 something - she looks good. Great skin. Yeah, and I think her look is all natural. "That first picture doesn't do her any favors because she is not smiling." True, but must say.... Vanna never did anything for me - even in her late 80s prime. As far as her current look......no comment, lol And by the by, looking thru this thread, Frances has not aged well either. YOu go back to "Blood SImple" - very attractive. Then check her out in "Nomadland" - not good. Hey this may be a good project for today. I'm going to try to think of some 50-60 something year old women that still look fantastic. Adding, it will have to be a natural fantastic - which is obvious now because Botox looks absurd. I checked out a movie a couple of nights ago, from 2024, Ashley Judd was in it - Jesus - talk about overBotoxing it! One has drank black coffee in the morning prior to blood work. Otherwise, no use for it. It does not taste good at all. More like 2/3 coffee, 1/3 milk, about a half tablespoon of sugar. Eehh, I would have been wrong - I was about to type.... Robin Wright. So it's Vanna? Well , she's getting up there for sure. Just as Rocky vs. Mason Dixon was ridiculous..... Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul is ridiculous. For whatever it's worth... I still don't believe anyone has played the part better than Christopher Reeve. The guy was perfect as Superman. The exact right look - the exact right bod. COUld carry himself with authority, yet still play meek Clark Kent. I don't think anyone (including Cavill) has topped him. I met a few people I knew were celebs while I was out in Hollywood (worked as a stagehand inside of various studios). I've gotta tell you man, your story doesn't sound right - if I knew the person was a celeb ahead of time, I wasn't able to be myself. A twinge of WOW in there. ANd these weren't people "I've seen in movies over last 40 years". It was mostly soap opera stars. Even them, they'd walk off the set and you'd talk to them, you'd still be a little bit in awe. The only absolutely huge star I got close to was Johnny Carson. And by close I mean, I saw him being walked in with his bodyguards. There was absolutely no chance of actually speaking to him. ANyway, there was one person I had a nice, relaxed conversation with. Afterwards thinking - hey that guy was all right. The conversation was relaxed because I didn't have a clue who he was. In fact, he was on a huge show (at that time) "Cheers". The postman - Cliff Claven. Very, very nice polite guy. Had no idea he was anybody. His actual name is John Ratzenberger. ANd as far as how you handled it, sorry brother, I have doubts on your story. Eehh, not bad. I think I'm gonna, for fun, post 1980s music that gets me pumpin' - especially since I'm about to work out. I'll post songs as I take breaks. In the meantime, the OP, eehh, just ok. Sounds kinda boring to me now. 6/10. Ok, lets get it going. FIrst on the list.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXJhDltzYVQ Yeah, get the party going with this one.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IF2kr3MDlA Keep it grooving..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGNiXGX2nLU OK, I was thinking about it while doing my thing. I think I'd go with the 70s as well. You had so much great stuff that came out of the decade. Great classic rock - Led Zep, The WHo, The Rolling Stones Great pop music - Wings, Elton John The emergence of punk - BLondie, The Sex Pistols OUtstanding soul music - which we've touched on. Even some great one hit wonders - Guys like Dobie Gray, AL Wilson. SOme other great stuff we talked about - Stevie WOnder, Marvin Gaye, THe O'Jays ALthough not crazy about Southern Rock, there is a 70s band I'm a huge fan of - Atlanta Rhythm Section. Great, great band. Even early 70s stuff like The Carpenters - like that too. Some of the disco still works for me. One could go on and on. So yeah, if you've got that much stuff you like out of one decade - well that clinches it - its the 1970s. ANd I thank you for participating 4L. Glad we agree. Ok, nice chatting with you as always - we'll catch you next time...... Indeed. Hey 4L let me ask you something - ok first, I'm about to get back into it (exercising). So take your time. Here we are in the 2020s - for your money, what decade do you think produced the best music? To limit it somewhat (I mean theoretically you could go back to Beethoven) - we'll go from the 1950s to the 2020s. Taking the entirety of each decade - which one do you think the best music came out of??? Ok, I'll catch you in about a half hour........
