She certainly could have done without the Botox. It makes her look ridiculous. There is a movie that came out in I believe 2005 called "Edmond". She has a cameo in it and looks fantastic. She should have just maintained her natural look. Personally I'm a big fan of Kristen Wiig. I don't think SNL has recovered since her departure. Kristen did it all based on talent. Those last couple of years on SNL, she was (IMO anyway) the main draw of the show. She hasn't seemed to hit it big in movies yet ("Bridesmaids" aside) and I don't know if she will. A lot of movie stardom is luck (the right script, the right director, the right amount of financing, the right co-stars, etc). She may never see huge movie stardom - but she is very funny - no doubt about it. Go on You tube and check out some of her clips to see. I couldn't agree more. I think "Joker" made over a billion dollars. Then Joaquin wins Best Actor. I read about it being this fantastic, incredible movie. Then I watched it. When it ended I thought "What's the big deal?". A white male watched this and my first thought is - we're not all like that - meaning like the disgusting young men in this film. Secondly, as far as the film itself - overrated. The acting (aside from Carey Mulligan) is dreadful. The story was mediocre at best. Kind of stupid in some parts. I thought it started off interesting and regressed into a made for TV type of film. Worth a look? Eehh, maybe. What surprised me is when I looked it up this morning - it was nominated for Best Picture and actually won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Go figure. Fair at best IMO. Wow - I didn't even know this was happening. I'm excited too but I can't see how it can be done. How is Isabelle going to play the same character - now that she is an adult? The same guy that wrote "Orphan" wrote this. I just checked and no release date yet. It should be interesting - looking forward to it. I can't speak for "Game of thrones" because Ive never seen it. I knew Isabelle though from "Orphan" and thought - wow - shes terrific! The role I thought she was tailor made for was Carrie White. There was a remake done of "Carrie" that was released in 2013 I believe. Julianne Moore played the whacky Mother. When I heard this movie was being put together I thought - "Isabelle would be perfect for Carrie". I don't know if she was even considered. The role ended up going to Chloe Grace Moretz and the movie was a failure. Who knows what Isabelle could have done with it?? Definitely 2010. I think this movie is one of the best movies of the decade (2010s). Very well done, IMO. The moment it began, hahahaahah. I guess there are people out there that could fall for an electronic voice. So, you have to be sensitive to that. In my eyes though, the entire concept of the film is absurd. Yeah I agree. I can say, without any question, he is the best actor that came from my generation (GENX). In terms of pure acting ability, I don't think anyone from GENX is even close. PSH was a great actor. It's a huge loss. Being 100% truthful, at Andrew's age, I would have chosen the girl. He has enough sense at a young age to recognize the reality - if you want to be great, you have to put the work in. You have to be completely dedicated to your craft. So, he sacrifices not only the girl, but pretty much the entire human race other than his Dad. Yes, very vague. Its left up to personal interpretation. Mine is the Priest did not molest the boy. But something about the Priest was a bit off. To me, I thought he was gay -which would have been a real problem for a Priest at any time, but particularly in 1964. As far as Meryl Streep's character - I found her "doubts" to be agonizing for her. When she weeps and says "I have doubts, I have such doubts" - it's that she doesn't believe in or trust anyone - only God. This non stop mistrust results in a tortured existence for her. Not really searching for anything. Her life in Empire ended. Husband gone, job gone, town gone. I think Fern's nature was to be a free spirit. Her steady life was over. She felt home ownership was a ripoff. She really had no need, or desire, to be with any one 24/7. Since nothing was holding her back - why not go out and experience the world? I shouldn't say that, something was holding her back, she didn't have any $. So, she goes out and experiences the world while living in her van. Beats paying for hotels. I don't know, maybe I'm weird - in my eyes what she did makes perfect sense. I think she would have continued living that life until something inspired her to live differently. I don't think the character played by David Straitharn was enough. If nothing inspired her, I think she would have been a Nomad for the rest of her life, like Swankie was. The way I read it is yes, it was about deafness. More so accepting it. Ruben is fighting it the whole way. Unfortunately for him the life he has chosen (and wants) absolutely requires him to be able to hear. He tries the "rehab" facility - but he just can't accept not being able to hear and losing the life he wants. So he keep fighting it and fighting it and fighting it until the end of the movie. Those last few moments, when he takes his hearing aids off, you see the look on his face. To me that was the look of a guy that finally accepted what happened to him. I watched a little bit of it today and it looks all right. Probably should have been called "The Phony". Holmes was so FOS. I have to say, even before her downfall, I saw an interview with Holmes and I could tell something wasn't right. That voice, the all black clothing, incredibly pale skin, the eyes you can tell she is straining to look wide open. I remember thinking "Cut the act." Anyway, turned out I was right. She couldn't do what she said she could do (her machine I mean) - then she spent years lying about it. I don't know if I'm going to continue with "The Dropout" cuz Holmes doesn't interest me all that much. She's just another phony. Biggest difference between her and the other dropouts: Jobs, Gates, Zuckerberg - those guys could actually do what they said they could do. Maybe. Amy Adams is awful good. They're probably equals. One thing I can say is the more I see of Naomi Watts, the more I like her. "Mother and Child", "Sunlight Jr.", "The Wolf Hour" are some examples of films I thought she was really good in. I saw that as trying to stick it to his wife. Elizabeth did not like women. Blamed her real Mother for her adoption and had nothing to do with her adopted Mother. She thought the neighbor's wife was a phony and wanted to hurt her. What better way then to sleep with her husband and plant her own underwear in the drawer, knowing the wife would find it? That's actually a good point. To me it means the woman in the 2022 photos looks a lot like Bridget's mother did in the 2002 photo. In other words, I still don't believe the woman in those 2022 photos is Bridget Fonda. I never read the book but I did just watch the 1998 film. The way I saw it is Javert literally can't help himself. Even he knows Valjean is no threat to society. He knows Valjean more than served his punishment. Valjean simply wants to live in peace. Javert is not capable of letting it go. That's why he tells Valjean to kill him. Its the only way it will end. Since Valjean won't kill him and Javert is probably tortured by the fact he can't leave this man alone, he kills himself. I suppose there are a lot of bored people out there. This interested me because I was a big fan of Bridget in the 1990s. Then, for no apparent reason, she disappeared. By around 2015, it was like "Is she still alive?". I would be curious as to what she really does look like now. He had good and bad in him his whole life, just like everyone else. What turned him into an incessant liar was the fact that he killed two people and didn't want to spend the rest of his life in jail. He's been lying about it ever since. And even the murders, not minimizing what he did, but he isn't a murderer in the sense that he gets some joy out of killing people. He let a woman drive him crazy, it's that simple.
