Were you alive in the 90s? You act like no films/shows showed homosexuality in a normal or positive light: -buffy -party of five -star trek tng -ds9 Just to name a few off the top of my head. Idk I'm not American and was born after the tv series so never saw or heard of The Brady Bunch when I first watched this film. Recently I appreciate it more because I'm more familiar of TBB from film references. The juxtaposition of the 70s vs the 90s is nice too. Me too. I still wear hooded rain jackets, flannel shirts, leggings, boots, loose sweaters, straight cut pants, etc etc. I have to agree with Adrian here. This discussion was brought up in the Back to the Future thread discussing how similar 1985 was to 2015, as opposed to 1955 was to 1985. Hey I still like Alternative Music tbh. Lol, true. Skinny jeans are in again now as they were in in the 80s but they're not classic in the sense that it wouldn't look nice 10-20 years from now. Big hair, neon colors and beards are another in style fashion that will not age well either. You notice many of the fashions back in the 20s-50s are ageless in that they still look good today? But starting from the 60s, fashion styles started to look limited to that era unless recycled temporarily again? I'm not American so can't relate to D&C, tbh I didn't like it very much. It was hard to empathize with any of the characters. Cellphones the size of bricks? Do you even remember the 90s? Cellphones then weren't very big, just thicker than phones of today. In fact so many phones today are bigger than the ones in the 90s. The cellphone the size of brick was the 80s, not the 90s. Well grunge is back in style again but only as a fashion statement with no attitude and without the music. Why is it a plot hole that his reason for coming to Earth is left ambiguous? Starman only saw adult Scott yet before he reached that appropriate age and he went through speed aging from infant to adult. I assume Starman's body was more or less identical to Scott's with a few quirks perhaps. You say charismatic, then breathe Chris Hemsworth in the next sentence. Lol, I don't think that word means what you think it means. :) Or turn out like Tron Legacy which is fantastic and much better than the original! I think I watched this as a kid but didn't remember details about the baby and just saw this. Now I feel like it should've had a sequel about the baby who has all his memories. I'm also curious about what happens to her and the baby. I assume the baby wood look like Jeff Bridges too and with Starman's memories? Yet he told her to tell the baby about him....? Did he do this after Against All Odds? His body in these 2 films were similar and he had 6 pack abs in both. Born before 88 and just saw it today, it's ok but not the masterpiece a lot of people make it out to be. What about those 31-44 range? Maybe he shaved his head 30 years ago when shaved heads weren't very popular or common and associated with neo nazis? Isn't that what Black people call fathers? I read it all the time in Lipstick Alley and assume it's a common American slang term.
