That was the biggest problem with the film. It was not cinematic. It was just long drawn out scenes with simplistic camerawork.
I agree. He was an asshole and the film made it seem like he was the anti-hero. He was drunk, racist and a philanderer and he got such an easy pass.
And it was way too long for such a simple story.
I hear this one is only a little bit better than the Coppola one.
And there was already a film called "Mother" a few years ago directed by Joon-ho Bong that I highly recommend. I don't think the exclamation point is going to be too noticeable to people to be able to differentiate the two.
Well, as I said, the movie was quite cheesy. But I still love it!
I've always thought this. My conclusion is that the jacket was long, so the pockets were a little further down, thus making it not as heavy. Having said that, there were other ways they could have written that scene.
" I don't believe that she was completely rotten."
Unless you were rich, I don't think she cared much for anyone.
Sophie's Choice, man.
With all the money it made, all the Oscars it won, the positive reviews, and it standing the test of time, perhaps you are the one, though an opinion, that is wrong.
As cheesy as this movie is, I love it. I mean, every second of it! The acting is overall solid. Technically, it's stunning, and it's well over three hours that doesn't seem that long to me. No blockbuster since has made me feel this way.
I'm ready to respond to the hater now.
How about doing the line-up in an alley? What kind of police department would agree to do a line-up in an alley without a two-way mirror?
The Driver was okay, nothing great. But to compare this and think it's superior to Drive, is ludicrous.
It preceded the Poltergeist curse.
Religious movies were always getting nominated back then. It's like "Ben-Hur, Done that". I'll see myself out now.
Yeah, the tone of the film did change a few times throughout. I think it should have stayed with the horror tone.
The turtle deserved it!
Clint was/is a man-whore and how he got so many women, I will never understand.
Hard to tell. One thing I realized is that director's cuts are always longer than the original, so I'm not sure if these really are director's cuts, or just an alternative extended cut.
Kazak, your post is the reason why I think comments here should get "likes".
